does anyone have a clue what the lug pattern for the G8 is going to be? i wanna know because i can begin looking for rims that id want to put on my G8 once i get it this summer. I wanna have plenty of times to begin looking at rims so i can already have a few in mind and begin saving up for and what not.

i appreciate it eveyrone. Thanks.

Before (and after) this thread gets moved, the pattern is 5x120mm. Same as the GTOs, but the G8 will be slightly different. The wheel studs are larger on the G8 than the GTOs. This means that if someone tells you that Corvette & F-body wheels will fit, I wouldn't recommend it. You could get away with that on the GTO since the studs were all the same size (I still have WS6 wheels on my GTO).

If you haven't learned about wheel offset, you will. Also, as these cars start hitting the road, we will find out exactly what the range of sizes will work. The factory offset for the G8 is expected to be +48mm (same as the Commodore). Otherwise, make sure any wheels you are looking at are exactly the right bolt pattern. I have a 2008 TSW wheel book & they list the F-bodies as the same bolt pattern (wrong!) & center hub (bore) size (wrong!) as the GTO.

yea i dont know offset well....i know backspacing better...because thats how and what us guys at f150online.com use and talk about when we buy wheels...cause we lift our trucks....so im going from my lifted truck world to my low fast car world. haha

At least offset & backspacing measure up to the same point. Just different formulas to get there.

Backspacing: Measuring from the back edge of the rim to the mounting pad of the wheel.
Offset: Measuring from the true center (width) of the rim to the mounting point.
