Are there any G8's in SC? I'm in Columbia and just got my GT. I saw one Black GT in Columbia a coupleof weeks ago. I've got the Panther Black GT with the black/red interior.

I'm travelling through the upstate several times a month, haven't saw any G8's on I-85. I did speak with someone in Greenville that actually knew what a G8 was, thanks to GM's marvelous marketing campaign.

I'm the liquid red on Hilton Head - #287. Been here since March 18. What a great car. Have seen only two on the road since then on the Isand, One Black, One White.

I'm off Ladson Rd. about a mile from Dorchester Rd. Mine isn't tinted...but it wasn't driven today. I was on the bike all day today.

i have an 08 panther black gt with tinited windows. im usally in the north charleston/ summerville area.

Depending on the time of day, you'll probably see me. I commute from Greenville to Anderson daily and I'm out running around during lunch pretty often. Liquid Red GT with a moonroof. Honk if you see me!

There a few of us in the North area and Summerville. Just saw a White GT one yesterday, windows tinted, so a different from the other white one I saw off of Dorchester Rd. There is a Black one that has black rims that I have seen once.

Saw a PBM filling up at a gas station in Anderson this morning. We exchanged compliments on our stellar purchases and went our separate ways.

I am just east of you, off Reidville Rd. I bought my 09 PB GT in July 08 from Wakefield. Paid premium of course only to see everything go on sale since then. I have only seen one other GT around and I did test drive a hot white one at Bradshaw before purchasing mine. Probably not the same one you have. Honk if you pass me.

While not in the S.E., I do make trips down to SC 3 or 4 times a year to visit family. So if you see an MGM with Virginia tags in Columbia, Johnsonville, or Pawleys Island, It will probably be me.

Man, it seems like the everywhere in SC, but Columbia, is loaded with G8's. I know of only 2 people on this board who are in Columbia, but I've seem several driving around. However, the only people I ever see driving them are like 50 year old moms. I will pace beside them and they either never look over or do, but have no clue that we are driving the same car. Its disappointing.

Just saw a Red GT at GW's Window Tinting parking lot, finished and ready for pickup. Nice color, not sure if it was a '08 or '09, or if they are here on this board.

I'd love to find a common ground for most of you low country g8 owners.

I'm just a troll with a GTO, but thought I would say that I saw a White G8 in summerville yesterday. White looks really good on 'em.

Hello all you fellow G8 GT owners (and even the GTO trolls). :) I'm brand new to the forum and a new owner (delivered June 30th) of a Racing Red G8 GT w/ Onyx Leather (Premium Package, Sport Package, Sunroof). I almost feel embarrassed to come here with a totally stock car but hopefully, that will change soon.

As for other G8s in the Summerville area, I've seen none. I saw a Pacific Slate Metallic in mid-June on Red Bank Road (which is the color I test drove last year). I took a drive to WV last week and saw exactly three on the way up (Liquid Red, White Hot, Maverick Gray), one in WV (Stryker Blue), and I think two on the way home. I have not seen another Racing Red on the road yet but there are two at the McElveen dealership in Summerville; one base sedan and one GXP.

Would you believe I actually went looking for a new Camaro but the $7000 mark up turned me off. Ended up checking out the G8 again and this time, fell in love (well, with all but the red displays).

I look forward to sharing some information with y'all. Maybe I'll see you at one of these GTGs that Ed's been promoting. I'm new to all the terminology so you'll have to bear with me. (What is a GTG, anyway?)

BTW, anyone care to recommend a window tinting service in the Summerville area? I used Norton's on Savannah Highway last time and got my trunk lid scratched. Probably a fluke but sucked none-the-less. Strangely, a buddy recommended Norton's on Ashley Phosphate so I may give them a try...what are the odds? Although, I might have to kill a guy if they scratch my new baby. :)

Hey Ron, I am all stock still myself. Trying to save up for headers and exhaust, but other things keep getting it.

I used GWs here in Summerville for the tint, but the dot matrix on the edge of the windows were not covered. He did place a piece of tint on the mirror to knock down the brightness of the passenger airbag status a bit. I found the tip here.

There is a window tint place off of Red Bank road, next to Goose Creek High, that I think uses a different technique to cover the dot matrix completely, so you don't have a line per say at the edge of the tint. You can't see it far away, but since I saw it, I always see it.

Anyway, welcome and hopefully I'll see ya around town some time.

Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't even think that some places would use different techniques and either cover or not cover the dot matrices on the windows. My last tint job didn't cover it either because they said it would simply peel off. I'll see if I can find the place you mentioned and give them a call. I'll have to remember the little strip on the air bag light too. :) I'm like you, once I'm aware of something, it will drive me nuts unless I fix it or find some way to justify it.

I passed a Red G8 in the opposite direction a few weeks back on Bacons Bridge road just before the Dorchester Intersection. I was in mine. He waved first and I wave back. Then I saw, I think the same one, parked at the shop here off of Miles Jamieson just before the fire station next to the big church.

That's The Kustom Shop. I stopped in there early last week and they seemed like nice folks. I was disappointed that they don't have the semi-metallic, reflective tint. I've had that the last two cars and I like it better than the straight black/charcoal type. It keeps the heat out better and it doesn't look dark...more like the windows are extra shiny...at least in my opinion. But, I think that type isn't very popular or maybe not even made any longer. I can't find anyone that has it. I'll probably bite the bullet and FINALLY get it done this week.

Saw a Panther Black on NAD & Red Bank Road on Monday morning. Anyone out there remember seeing me? The other guy caught up to me, I think checked out my ride, then motored on past and headed toward the Weapons Station. Again, I waved but got no acknowledgment back. granted the exterior of our G8 will most likely stay stock, other than tint, and maybe a big brake upgrade(think gxp) performance wise may one day be improved with things like headers, catback, CAI and eventually a magnaflow if we get $$ :)

I have just joined the ranks of G8 owners. I purchased my 2009.5 MSM G8 GT in Conway just this Wednesday. I drove it to Charleston and haven't moved it since. My first real driving will be to Nashville, TN this coming weekend.

I did notice an SRM one today near Westvaco (IIRC). I know it was between the NWS and Tanger because that was my lunch trek.

I think there is a WH one where I work.

Anyway, I look forward to getting familiar with this car and seeing the local guys cruising around.

I saw the Stryker blue 2 times this past weekend. 1, at franks carwash on highway 378 on saturday... they were vacumning it out. .adn secondly on highway 1, in between the flea markets heading to lexington. Other than that, i havent really seen many G8's around. at least they're easy to pick out in a crowd because they're so rare. lol..

Picked up mine on June 30th and haven't been towards Columbia or the low country yet - we typical hit the outlet mall in Hilton Head and do a weekend or two there during the winter (have the place to ourselves). I drive daily on I20 through Augusta. Me amd the wife get out and about on a wim quite often so may be seeing some of you guys. I'll make sure I wave. By the end of the month I'll have chrome mesg on the front. Other wise I'll be stock except for 35% tint all around and maybe lower chrome trim like Jeff H20's. Happy Driving.:driving:

It was an amazing trip. It was my brother's bachelor party so I'll just say...we all had fun. The PSM had the "pontiac" taken off of it so that usually shows he likes his car.

I am on vacation down in Pawley's and I have seen 2 MGM's in the past couple days. The first being a MGM in Georgetown heading into town on 17 around 2 PMish. The other one I saw was a MGM G8 Sedan with tint and a Steelers front license plate at Broadway at the Beach on parked on the north side of the place.

Saw a MSM with 19 inchers last night. Lady with black hair driving it. I pulled right up to her, she didnt have the time of day for me. Romped it a bit and no reaction.

Saw a MSM with 19 inchers last night. Lady with black hair driving it. I pulled right up to her, she didnt have the time of day for me. Romped it a bit and no reaction.

Saw 2 PBMs today about 1/8 apart on N. Rhett. First guy waved second was hidden behind some very dark tint. Hardly ever see another G8 and today, 2 so close and similar. Very strange.

Quietpro, the Check my fuel mileage link, do you have to input the data everytime you fill 'er up, or do you input the data at the week's end with multiple fill ups? Just curious, haven't seen that before.

ok, then about 10 pm ish, then at the Sofa Plus / Super Kmart off of Rivers, Quietpro, if you are interested in seeing some other cars as well as our G8s.

There's a SRM that works on base (Naval Weapons Station) that I have seen and exchanged waves with.

I'm not sure if either lurk here.

Back atcha, bud. There is another PBM around but with aftermarket wheels. I did see a red one on Blackstock Rd. last Saturday. Nice fella stopped to let me get across heavy traffic. I was walking then.

Hey, there's now two SRMs on NWS Charleston. I started my new job there last week and found the other on day one. :) He's already spotted me as well. I'll try to contact him and see if he'll join the site.

There's also a HW that works in my building but I haven't seen the driver yet. Hopefully I can get both into the "club."

Are the meetings on Rivers a weekly thing? I want to make it out to a meeting to compare notes with everyone. I've got some minor annoyances that I want to get worked out and I'd also like to hear some exhaust options. :)

That's pretty late. But I will be there :D

I am broadcasting it on TBSSownersforum, g8board, ls1tech, jeepsrt8 forums.....anywhere else I can....

Me and another guy are trying to get it done, and get a well known tuner Johan to come up from Fla for the day to tune a few rides, I might get ShowZones tuner to work that day too, to tune a few g8's if anyone would want theirs tuned.

We are going to try to rent the dyno for the whole day......so as many tunes as you want/runs what have you.....

since me and the other guy have to rent the dyno for the whole day, prices will change......

Once we find a decent date, I will post up more info, I am thinking June 12th

Any Charleston area G8 owners out there who are planning a meet or would be interested in talking about our cars? I'm about to pull the trigger on a new exhaust but would love to be able to hear one in person first. I'm trying to decide between the Corsa and Borla so if anyone with either of those two exhausts are around and can give some advice or meet for demo, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

I just bought my G8 this week. I'm in West Columbia. Anyone know who has the Black GXP around here? His car was the first G8 I ever saw, and it made me do a double take, been in love with them ever since.

I've got an Liquid Red 09 G8 GT 6.0 here in Pawleys Island / Surfside Beach. You may see me in the Asheville, NC or Charlotte areas as well as I own real estate in those cities.

I would love to sync up with folks some time. Getting ready to mod my exhaust with Flowmaster Delta Super 44s and the car is just toooo quiet. I can't do much more than that but next step will be SLP LT Headers.
