This has been pretty tough to find for me, as it's the "same" unit in the commodore, but with Nav as not an option, it's hard to tell if it's really a different device or just has some buttons moved around compared to the one from down under - I'd certainly be glad if someone knows more on that, as otherwise I'm not sure whether we'll know until we get one and somebody cracks it open. The GT stereo comes with an 11-speaker 230 watt system, that includes a subwoofer and amp, but again, I've found not certain on what that means in terms of placement, size, etc.

Here's a link to an australian installer who did some stuff with a ve ss - http://www.alexminassian.com/gm.htm, and there are some other posts in this thread around adding aux-ins and things like video in motion, but I think that some of the ability for those will be based on just what this unit really is compared to the one on the commodore.

The 11 speaker system is said to come with 2 subs. See the G8 details book, pg 13. I think I've read they are 8" subs.

They are most likely different units. Since the nav system wasn't designed to work for the US, they had to make a new unit without nav capabilities. I'm sure someone will find a way to at least plug in some kind of aftermarket unit to the head unit. Just to prove that it can be done.

I hope so. I really believe that bluetooth and nav should have been on this car from the get go.
