Personally, I'd either go with http://www.turbonator.com/ or http://www.electricsupercharger.com/.

Although.. I have a feeling that the L76 would inhale both of those. :stickpoke:

You should look into the APS twin turbo kit. It is a well designed kit which puts the turbos where they should be, and makes awesome power.

i liek the APS kit....but it has the turbos under the engine bay...they are going to get alot of grime and weather done to them.

my G8 is going to be my daily driver...

Sweet Jesus! Those do look sweet! Perhaps I should give up on my brilliant idea of hooking up a leaf blower to the intake.

Can you run that through the stock cats? The other twin turbo replaces the cats with turbos.

reading through the news on that site came up with this:

PONTIAC G8 GEN-TT KIT IS GO!
That's right, the hard yards we have carried out in testing and development over the past six months on our own range of VE Commodores has enabled us to finalise a completely tested and tuned Gen-TT Intercooled Twin Turbocharger system that will bolt directly to the Pontiac G8 and its UAE Arabian derivatives. A whole new generation of US customers will get to enjoy over 500rwhp of thundering turbocharged power and torque, while still retaining excellent economy and driveability!

and...

GEN-TT VE MEETS AND EXCEEDS REQUIREMENTS FOR EURO III AND 2008 ADR TAILPIPE EMISSIONS

Possibly the most time intensive engineering exercise undertaken by LS1Turbo has been the ADR Tailpipe Emission compliance for the Gen-TT VE Intercooled Twin Turbocharger system on the GM VE/G8 platform. With current standards raising the bar many times over earlier and much simpler emissions levels the reality remains that even totally stock motor vehicles may struggle to meet Euro III emissions in some instances.

Using the extensive ADR testing facilities of Orbital Engineering in Perth Western Australia, and having out own people on the ground in that area - WA Performance Centre - with a VE Clubsport R8 test vehicle, the past eight months have been a constant process of development and engineering to bring to market the very first and fully ADR compliant serious engine modification solution (not just Forced Induction) for the VE Commodore range.

"The process has been long and drawn out teaching our software guys plenty of new lessons along the way" according to LS1 Turbo Engineering Director Keir Wilson "but with an unstopping drive to do what we have been told is quite literally the impossible, we never took our eye off the ball or forgot our basic mission statement for the Gen-TT VE system which was to be fully road legal in every state of Australia...and Euro III, the most important and difficult data we had to gather to meet this objective, is now firmly squared away with a definitive and conclusive pass grade."

GEN-TT AT PRI IN FLORIDA USA

With a hectic schedule leading up to the holiday break the Gen-TT Twin Turbo crew represented at the worlds largest hardcore auto parts show - Performance Race Industry - in Orlando Florida. Taking over a heap of new technology including the Pontiac G8 Gen-TT Intercooled Twin Turbocharger system and a complete F-Body arrangement many new contacts were made that will ensure that the Gen-TT brand continues to be a driving force in the US aftermarket scene.

i saw that a few weeks ago while browsing around, do you think the stock transmission would be able to handle all that extra power though? im guessing there is no currrent recommended max. power rating on the trans yet on the G8?

It's the 6L80/E with 430lb-ft engine torque maximum rating, but I believe the 6L90/E (520lb-ft max from what I've read) is going into the 550hp/550lb-ft CTS-V, so the torque specs may only be guidelines. I too wonder about that issue in regard to a twin-screw supercharger, but I think we'll be okay if we go over because I think the ratings are for the maximum continuous (24/7) amount of torque.

This confirms that the 6L80 (MYC) will be in the G8 GT.

Here's a picture of the transmission that P to the right of the transmission on the previous site will give you...

...and here's a picture of the partial Excel spreadsheet of specs, SS.
http://www.g8board.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=369&stc=1&d=1201839991

The transmission was used in the 2006 STS-V, which had 469hp and 439lb-ft of torque, both the max specs of the transmission. This is confirmed in the Word document, WM.
http://www.g8board.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=367&d=1201839672

You'll find the 6L90 on the truck drivetrain page.
http://media.gm.com/us/powertrain/en/product_services/2008/08truck.htm

These are the specs for the 6L90 (MYD).
http://www.g8board.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=370&stc=1&d=1201840336

Cadillac's website confirms that the CTS-V, with a maximum engine torque of 550lb-ft (est), will receive the 6L90.
http://www.cadillac.com/09ctsv/

This means that GM is putting a powerful engine on an under-rated transmission and still giving it a warranty. This allows for at least moderate modifications to the L76 without having to worry about the transmission.

Might point out that picture provided by GM's link is wrong. That is the transaxle out of the Vette and not exactly what the G8 will get. Not a big deal, but there is probably a real picture out in GM world somewhere.

you can go over the max ratings somewhat though, so i would think if you were pushing at or a little over 500 hp and 500 pounds of torque you should be fine, over on my other board we usually say 10% over the max rating should be fine, but its only when you go way over the rating where you should be concerned. might want to get a tranny cooler or the 90 trans if your pushing a lot of power, i saw somewhere a twin turbo kit for the G8 that you could get i think 800 hp and 750 torque which would be way over the rating.

If I had the extra scratch I'd be getting a turbo. I think the transmission would be fine unless you were loading the hell out of it all the time. You'd probably experience drive shaft or axle/rearend failure first.
