I currently have a Roto-Fab CAI and a MagnaFlow cat-back exhaust system on my 2008 G8. I am wondering what, if any, other modifications are available for the V6? If I were to consider forced induction, what are some of the weak points within the motor that would need to be replaced?

I would imagine that the answer would depend on how crazy you want to get. On my last V-6, the VQ35 in a Nissan 350Z the connecting rods and bolts were weak. So despite the fact that you only really needed to upgrade those parts for a strong bottom end, you ended up replacing most of the bottom end because you might as well have if you are going to break down the motor.

There is a kit in Australia for the VE/G8. Do a search on google.com.au

From reading the specs on the V6, I think it will hold up fine.

6 bolt mains like the old Ford Boss blocks.
Forged crank
Forged rods
Forged pistons.

So it should be a stout bottom end.

The Magnaflow was made for the V8, it doesn't sound bad though, just a lot louder than I expected. The CAI was for the V8 too actually, all it took was a two dollar reducer coupling from Lowes to make it fit on the throttle body. Thanks for the replies, I guess i'll go ahead and run my T-76 full blast on the little guy!

how did you fit the rotofab intake into the v6 engine?

It was actually very easy. Everything bolted right into place without any problems. I just cut a couple inches off of the tube and put on a reducer coupling I bought at Lowes to make it fit onto the intake.
