: Light Bulbs?
Gremlyns Garage 02-04-2008, 02:26 PM Anyone have any info on the bulb types to be used for the lows and fogs? I did a quick look on the Aussie google and ebay for Commodore related stuff, but am having trouble separating out the info, which is slim pickings to begin with.
Lows are (H7-12v-55w)
Fogs are (H11-12V-55W)
These are the bulbs on the SS-V Commodore. (projector lamps)
neelnug 02-04-2008, 08:11 PM I'm past 40k with my original GTO bulbs. Thats impressive. (I usually drive with my lights on during the day)
UltraMagnus 02-04-2008, 08:36 PM Is the G8 coming with the daytime running lamps? If so, does anyone have a clue on how to turn them off?

Probably pull out a fuse in the fuse box. That's how I turned off the GTO's DRLs. I hope the G8 can do the 6-light mod. High, low, & fog lights all on at the same time.

Check with the service department where you buy your G8.:D

Great thanks! Just want to make sure I I know what to expect for HID upgrades :)
Doing a 6-light mod shouldn't be too hard, just have to figure out which relays to interconnect.

On the GTOs, there is simply one relay to pull out.
SilverFox 02-05-2008, 08:43 PM I think you can turn off the drl's manually?

That allows for all lights to turn on? Or just to disable DRLs?

One relay controls the DRLs. Pull it, it's gone. A different relay turns power to the fog lights off when the high beams come on. Pull it, the fogs don't turn off. Therefore, all 6 lights are on.
BackRoad101 04-03-2008, 04:23 PM Ok, so what brand bulbs does everyone use as far as hyperwhites? I used to use the Sylvanias on my current Mazda6 but they would not even last a year. Tried them a couple times and just put my OEM bulbs back in. And yes, I took the precautions of making sure everything was clean and dry. I want to find something that will last without necessarily going to full blown HIDs. Suggestions??

Hang on -
On the G8:
-- high beams are H9
-- low beams are H11
-- I don't find a number for the fog lamps
TomPierce 04-04-2008, 04:31 AM Doesn't anyone read the manual anymore?
To turn off the DRLs turn the headlight switch to the left. They will stay off until the next time you atart the car.
