I was under the impression that the General said that it can....

...that it can damage internal fuel system parts on any vehicle not sspecifically designated for it. You can use the opposite, if I am correct, regular gasoline with just a few % of alcohol, maybe 10-15% but don't hold me to it. But unless teh G8 arrives in your drive with a big green E85 sticker on the tail, stay away from 85% moonshine.

Now the good news about E85, Saab has devleoped a special ecm taht automatically senses what fuel you insert in the tank and will adjust power settings to correspond, gaining something like 15% over plain gas. That technology will come here, but it will be awhile. And it will be awhile before teh American public gets cozy with buying a car whose SAE power rating is depressed on pump gas compared to E85.

It is usually labeled inside the gas door. I haven't heard that the G8 will be able to use it or not.

I know what it can do... I was actually saying that I thought the G8 was designated as being able to. If not, then I was mistaken. Irregardless to the damage it can cause in a car not designed for it.

Do Aussie's even have e85 availability? I wouldn't think we'd be able to get that on a G8 if it was not offered in their own market.

All we have in ethanol is E10.

It won't be an e85 vehicle. If it is (as mentioned) you will see a flexfuel sticker on the back and the gas cap will be yellow (thank you GM).
