Looks much better without all the wheel gap now...

Ride has not suffered at all, except over relaly bad pavement... you feel those hard bumps a bit more now...

Will upgrade the stock dampers after some research...

Here's before...

Damn that looks good! How much are the Eibachs supposed to lower the car? Looks like right where I will want to set my coilovers!

I got the rears installed on my last weekend. The first one took two hours and the second about thirty minutes. I hope to have the front installed this weekend. I didn't really notice much difference in the ride, but I figured it may be hard to tell with just having the rears installed. Did you notice much of a difference in ride behavior?

Looks good with those! I'm getting mine put on Friday. What size wheels are those because I have 20's and worry about rubbing? Anyways, looks good

i'll upgrade the dampers in the summer... just need to find out what's available, and affordable...

those are 19's that match the factory spec wheels...

i'm gonna stick with 19's all the time, but go for a 9.5" out back in the summer...

Got mine done today. Before picture is much higher quality, but the stance is much better in the after photo. I am very pleased.

Smitty can you post those pics of your car? I am getting a set of Eibach springs in a week or so and your pics will give me something to look forward to.

The after picture was taken with my mobile phone, so it kinda sucks. I love the springs though. A fairly easy install too.

Very nice of you to say. Thank you!

19" Wheels?
Actually 18" wheels. I got them off of ebay for $350, otherwise I probabaly would have gone with 19".

these wheels were a simple cheap winter solution... i needed to get my snow tires and be able to install immediatley, without having to worry about swapping tires...

after this winter, i'll shod the stock 19's with the snows, and get some summer wheels for the summer tires i have on the stock 19's now...

i bought the setup from tirerack, as well as the Eibachs...

Was yer car wrecked? Your first pic has a few swirl marks in it....
Nice car overall though!

no the paints just that bad already... i'll wait until spring and have a complete recon done...

i think the car was waxed pre delivery and i don't think they knew what they were doing... i can see where they left some of the wax on the black plastic parts...

Doesn't seem many G8's have done the Eibach springs. It looks as if the stance is definitely improved with the Pro Kit.

I love mine, I think I was one of the first to do the install last August or Sept. Mine took about 3 hours total. We did have a little problem on the rear, we disassemble it wrong and took the long way around it, other side on the back was a breeze and the fronts are just normal stru setup. Mine dropped 1.25 front and just a little over 3/4 or so in the rear. Remember to align the front and rear so you don't get tire wear.

so what exactly are the differences in spring rates from stock? IS it necessary to replace the shocks as well? How is the ride?

Sorry for the questions

DZL
02-14-2009, 07:30 PM
i think the stock shocks should be replaced with the springs...
i'm still looking into my options that are affordable...

not looking to break the bank on dampers, but feel the car needs more damping power, as over elevation changes, the car seems to not be stuck to the road...

I really want to do this but I love the stock ride quality, just not the height.

I second that motion. The stock sport G8 suspension is close to the BMW sport option on a 5 series I had. I would want the car to have better damping. AND drop the height.

I used Eibachs on all my previous cars, and loved them. Looks good DZL, but please do something about those wheels, they are so damn hideous...get some gunmetal, something like that..ive seen your color G8 with some nice wheels and it makes them look so sharp..wtf is up with the red circle too? sorry, just looks so ghetto.

DZL
02-28-2009, 05:15 PM
the wheels aren't served justice in pics...

they were my winter setup as i wanted to order tires with wheels on it so i could immeditaly throw them on the car... the wheels have since been sold but they weren't bad IMO...

certainly not a ghetto look... that might be the dumbest thing i heard recently, considering we all know ghetto look it bling bling...

Looks good. Are these something that once delivered from Tire Rack, Midas or Monroe can do? Where did you have your done?
