I didn't see this topic anywhere in this section, so I figured I'd go ahead and start this thread. I came from the GTO community (LS1GTO.com) and this was very popular over there.

Post up your sightings of other G8's in St. Louis and the surrounding areas. Give the location of the sighting along with a description of the vehicle and the date and time if not the same day as the post. If you recognize someone spotted you give them a shout back it this thread.

Spotted an 08 Ignition Orange Metallic IOM sitting in front of Intoximeter at 170 between Natural Bridge and the Rock Road. See it there all the time when returning from lunch.

Just bought a silver G8 GT from Sinclair today.
They are making some serious deals to get all of theirs off their lot!
I think it took me 2 hours from entry to exit, keys in hand!
My last 3 cars were Lincoln LS V-8's, and this is the first car I've driven that I liked more than my LS's.
My wife couldn't believe I was getting away from Lincoln, but this car just flat out hauls!
Not to mention the "double-th-leg-room" in the back seats now.
I can't wait to start the mods!

Not sure who would be the best bet for the G8. I know a lot of peeps speak highly of Mccord out at PurPerformance for tuning GTOs.

No, I actually bought it in MO (Lou Fusz). Illinois has this weird thing about paying sales taxes up front instead of rolling it into your payment. As for the exhaust, it should be here thurs/fri. I'll have in put in when I get back from Jamaica .

270 is the "loop" that goes around all of St. Louis.

I live in O'Fallon and am looking for a get together. Hopefully it is not when I am working. I have not done any mods on my car yet, and am looking to do some, so seeing those on others cars will help decide what I want.

Man, I tell you what, my Mom, Dad, and sister all have silver cars, I used to have a red Mustang, and a black Mustang, I pretty much vowed that I could never own a silver car. Sure enough, I saw a silver G8 one day, and that has to be one of the few cars that still looks awesome in silver. Good enough that it changed my mind about a silver car. :wink2: No regrets on the color choice.

I am going to Total Tinting in O'Fallon. I am going dark as hell on the backs, and legal on the fronts. Gotta be legal being a cop lol.

Hey, guys, I'm picking mine up in Memphis tomorrow. It's a SBM GT fully loaded with roof and BT. I bought mine through McMahon Pontiac GMC as my buddy across the street works for their umbrella company (Schicker Auto Group). They had to do a dealer trade with a dealer in Memphis. I was pretty stubborn on wanting the roof and BT and they are getting damn hard to find in STL...wait, actually, there are no more in STL. So, I'm taking their car for trade (silver GT) to Memphis tomorrow morning at 6:30ish am and then coming back with mine. Anybody else up for a road trip???

BTW, 04GT - I was the guy in the Audi allroad that stopped to talk with you at Mobil On The Run at 55 and Meremac Bottom a couple of weeks ago. I just don't think the GXP made sense for me at this point. It was doable financially, but I also have 2 little kids that will be costing more money as they start going to school and the gas mileage would've killed me.

We drive Impalas. Hopefully GM does go under so I can get a Charger. We hated the crown vics so went to the Impalas. I HATE THEM! They are SO slow! If I have to catch someone...it takes forever to speed up.

I saw 3 GT's this morning in St Peters within 4 miles this morning.

A White GT tinted & 18" rims on Mid Rivers turning onto hwy N.

A Sport Red GT (girl driver) on Kisker.

A Silver GT tinted (partially debadged) on Towers.

To bad I was not driving mine, maybe I could have gotten their attention?

went to the ozarks for the 4th, passed about 7 or 8 on the drive back home..

stlG8 how do you like the Stryker Blue? That is what I wanted but my wife hated the color enough I went with black...

I love it! It's a color that most people either love or hate.
My wife was a little uneasy about this color at first but she's loving it now. She is cool about the car since it's my toy.

The Holden website offers an interior option on the Commodore SS V with a dash, steering wheel, shifter and seat inserts in blue for the VooDoo (appears to be the same as the Stryker in the US). I wish I could find a price for these items, maybe it would be worth buying the steering wheel and shifter.

Hey guys, it's been a whirlwind since yesterday at 6 a.m. I left STL with the dealer trade car (silver GT, premium, no sport) at 6:45 a.m. It was pouring rain through Perryville, MO, so I kind of had to take it easy on the way down. Hit east suburbs of Memphis around 10:15 and made the swap with the dealer. Took about 30 min. there so I could look the car over. It was pretty smooth sailing on the way back. Stopped for lunch and a bathroom break and that was about it. Pulled back into my driveway at 3:08 p.m. The Valentine 1 saved my rear about 5 times on this trip. Bunch of staties around Sikeston area both ways.

The drive back was much more enjoyable as I was in my car. So far no steering wheel shake. The silver one I drove down had it in a bad way.

Spent today just working on the outside. I clayed the hell out of it after washing. I did a little polishing on the hood as there are some light swirls and scratches from the knucklehead dealer in Memphis. Then applied some Menzerna FMJ sealant wax. Did the inside windows twice they were so cloudy. Put a little tire shine one (Adams VRT). I haven't even really touched the interior yet. Going forward, I'll have to polish out the rest of the car, but it is stable for now. Anyway, here are some pics:

Ok, seen a bunch today in Chesterfield. Only one I remember was just now. Bright red GT with tints and no mods I could tell. On Olive just east of Faust park near the condos. I had someone pulled over so you would have rubbernecked the pretty lights.

and yea their service did suck. I found the car on the net, emailed about it, exchanged emails with a guy, then i asked for more details and to arrange a test drive..and he never replied back, nothing. I emailed again...nothing again.....I assume the car sold...so I wait a week,, and see its still listed, so i called them, talked to another dude, told him id be up there the next day. He says he has the day off, and to call him when i get up there. I arrive, call him, he says hes too tired to help me....and then i just stand around on the dealership looking at it for about 20 minutes before somebody even says anything to me..... Then they try to say it cant be test driven as its in the showroom....which was BS, they just didnt want to move the cars in the way. Finally after flashing the cash they moved the cars out.

They didnt treat me with any sort of respect, probably assumed since im early 20s i couldnt afford it...they only started to treat me well when I showed them the cash..... If that car wasnt a great deal 25.5K for a 09.5 with 600 miles and the 5 hour drive to get there...i would of walked away just from the experence.

The car is great...but the dealership was full of *******s....I dont even know who would get the commission for it considering nobody even worked with me. I did end up meeting the first guy i emailed a day later after i picked it up. He said he went on vacation....total B.S. Oh, another great thing. While i was being held hostage during the contract crap, I had a great view of their last GXP they had on the lot. I noticed a salesman walking with this small asian woman (pretty damn hot too ha), she walked up to it, and he opened the door and was showing her the inside....then her husband/boyfriend/brother whatever comes into the picture (bummer). They talk for a while, and then it looks like they decide to give it a test drive. The woman gets into the driver seat, and the husband is proping himself on the drivers door that is still open, talking to her still. The car is running, and i am thinking...that is a lot of car for that woman....

Next thing I see is the car lurch hard backwards, not a long ways, but enough for the tires to spin a bit, and the husband to be dragged a few feet by the door...lol...next thing that happens is she puts the car in park and turns it off. And the salesman and the couple go back to looking at the V6 and GT G8s haha.

That might've been my insurance agent. He picked up his GT a couple of weeks before I got mine. His is sport and premium.

Tell me about it! I test drove a white one at Suntrup and it shifted terrible compared to my VMS tuned GT.

This one seems to shift a lot better than the white one did, but still not nearly as good as the VMS tune.

On a side note, I got my GXP yesterday. Drove it back from Denver last night. So far I'm liking it.

Could be me? A friend of mine lives in Camden and I live in O'Fallon near K & N. Always going up and down 40. I know I'm gonna catch some **** for this but I have a White Sox magnetic sticker and Bears plates. I'm a Cards fan so don't hate on me too much. Just grew up in Chicago and never fell off the band wagon with my childhood teams.

I have noticed, I see a lot of G8s (probably the same ones) but it is never anyone on this board and they never see me. However, some of us live in close proximity. Just an odd observation.

I pulled up to a stop light. Right next to me was a white hot G8 sedan with tint exactly like mine. Oh and I saw another one in the parking lot where I work. I think there are officially 4 on the site now...all GTs.

In deference to the mightiness of the G8 I pulled to the middle lane quickly giving you the pass - it sounded good as you went by. Traffic in the valley had you tied up pretty good and I ended up crossing the bridge in front of you.

Car looks great, except for all the Chicago bling of course.

I'm not hatin', I just think the G8 looks batter naked (yes, I'm thinking about debadging). However, I saw GTO a couple of months ago with Holden badges that looked SWEET - that might be fun to do.

3:45 saw a grey tinted G8 on 141 right before parkway central, I waved at you out the window of my patrol car. Not sure if you saw me...

White GXP this AM on 94 North just before Page Extension starts. Honked and waved, but now sure he could see me through the tint...
