My mom is looking to buy a G8 V6 but they seem to be hard to find. Depending on how much cheaper the V6 will be versus the V8 is the deciding factor on whether she is getting a G8 or not. Definitely has to be under $20,000.

Even with all incentives, unless used, it will be difficult to purchase a V6 G8 for less than $20k. 8-9 thousand off is a little far-fetched, IMHO.

Well seeing slightly used V8 ones going for low $20K I would assume the V6 one would be a decent amount cheaper right?

I just was able to get a new 08 V6 w/leather for 19990, however - that price includes the GM card roundup of $3000 and loyalty bonus of $1000. I don't know if those options are available to you or not, but if they are you should be able to get a V6 for that price. The cheapest V8 i could get was around 22,500...
