I just picked up the brochure for the G8 and ging through it I noticed it didn't mention heated seats as an option. I thought the G8 was suposed to have heated seats? Or did I just miss it in the brochure?

It has heated seats. The button has two settings.

But if you buy a cloth seat vehicle there are aftermarket heat kits that you can install.

anyone notice just the seat bottoms are heated? No heat on the back cushion.

Or am imagining this when I tried it?

That would suck. If anything I would rather have heat on my back than my ass.

Both front seats (leather) have 4 settings. Off, low, medium, & high. On my car they are very fast to warm up and we get even warmth on seat bottom and up to just about belt level on the back. Neither of us has tried anything above low yet. It is toasty.

Heated seats are no big deal. Had 'em on my old '75 Saab. Just candy.....

In the South, I'd agree. In Seattle they are nice. It's supposed to be Spring and it's still in the mid 30's here.

I know some of GM's cars have ways to turn on the back or bottom independently, but this is the first one I have seen that is just the bottom.

I guess it is better than nothing at all like in Oz

In the G8 I sat in this weekend I noticed that the heat settings are backwards from most other vehicles I've sat in that had heated seats. The G8 goes from Low-High while most, if not all, other vehicles start out in High mode, then medium and then low. Not really a complaint just something I noticed.

Before I purchased my G8-GT with leather, the dealer was trying to sell me the G8-GT with cloth interior. He said he would have the dealership install the heat elements in the seat and the lumbar. Of course, I told him it had to be done for free, which they agreed. Then we went back and forth over $300 and I walked, and got one of the 888 with leather and heated seats.

The setting/switch is better the way it is. High setting is too hot for most people. I prefer that it starts off in low. The seat heater do heat the back side up to about the lumbar area. They are much better then most cars I have driven. (GM seat heaters are good!)
