My daughter was invited to the tour opening of 'Rent'. The problem? We're in NE PA, and the show was in Cleveland. Aww, what the hell, she's a great kid, it's her 16th birthday, and we have a new (to us) G8 GT.
6:15 out, 8+ hours on the trip back. 21 MPG and 63.6 average MPG over 893 miles. The time difference? A nice ice storm blew in last night and coated everything in its path.
All I can say is this is a very nice car for a long ride, second only to my GTO in comfort. But to be fair, the G8 has a better ride (the GTO has more comfortable seats). I had a couple of road gods to deal with, but when I got an opening they were no match for the power of the GT motor. The tranny is smooth as silk. I love this car!
I had one real laugh on the trip, too - a late model Honda with Ohio plates "SMOOTH 1", all polished & dressed up. When I got alongside, the guy was the geekiest looking pointdexter you ever saw... Heehee!!!
