Would you be able to get me the part number for the cabin airfilter? I bought one off an auto website, and it seemed to be a little off and now I think its causing the leak in my car. I also was having a problem with my sunroof not working properly, buttons wouldnt work except the arrows, and i would have to hold them. Wouldnt close all the way would stop 2" s away from close.

    Hello RuLEoF2,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us about your vehicle concern. I understand that you are looking for a simple yes or no question regarding if your strut mounts are going bad. Do to liability, I do apologize but we cannot diagnose your vehicle concern even if it is an unofficial diagnosis because we are not certified licensed technicians. I completely understand you were only looking for a simple answer but if you find that you may need to have your vehicle diagnosed by a GM dealership, I am more than happy to assist. Please contact me via private message or at socialmedia@gm.com if I can be of any assistance.

Again, I do apologize I could not be of more assistance.

    Hi Amber...

I have an issue with the strut mounts on my G8 where there is a significant gap between the frame and the top bushing visible from inside the engine compartment. I started a thread here about this where numerous members have said the the gap is not supposed to be there. A fellow coworker who also owns the same model said that he had to have his replaced when they looked like mine and the dealer covered it under warranty. I just bought the car from carmax and they are saying the there's nothing wrong with the mounts or bushings.

Would it be possible to send one or two photos to a GM tech that can say definitively weather the gap is bad or not? I'm not looking for an official diagnosis, just a yes or no on the gap.

HI. i would go to my local dealer to have my shuddering and door lock issue looked at but just 3-4 days ago i had them test which TPMS was bad. and just to tell me which sensor was bad was $45 dollars. it took them all of 5 minutes to find it. So i can only imagine how much they would charge to sit around and take 1-2 hours to figure out why my steering wheel is shuddering at certain speeds. If i had some way to make sure they wasnt going to charge m outrageous price just to tell me what "possibly" would be causing it i would be more inclined to let them work on my car. The problem is this is a small town and there is only two dealerships. a GM dealership and a Ford. Holt Auto Group in Crossett, AR is the dealer here.

and just to update you on the shuddering. this is after new front rotors and pads, and new tires all the way around.

I had a quick question on 09 G8 GT 50k service. Dropped off the car at the local dealership to get a transmission flush as many members recommended on here, but just got a call back from the dealership stating they cant flush the transmission because it is sealed. They stated that they would only replace the filter and pan and replace the fluid in the pan.

This does not sound correct from what I have read? Also they upped the price from the quoted 199 for the flush to 290 for this service now.

    Advice?

    Bird chirping engine noise
My g8 vin #6g2ec57y091997115 has been in for service numerous times to the local dealership that that I purchased the car at for this exact noise along with other engine noise. I was going to bring the car back in now that it is spring time and the car is back on the road on the weekends. Last fall it was brought in for this issue and they supposedly replaced the lifters but said the cam was fine. I recieved the car back with clips from the engine sitting in the cup holders and the fire wall material all torn. Also the noises were and still are present and I think louder than before bringing the car in. I brought it back to the dealership after and they tried to repair the fire blanket material. As for the noises they told me it is normal. They explained how they do not know as much about these cars because of thier rarity and not working on them as much. The car is still under extended warranty. Can you please help me in getting this issue resolved?

    Dear GMCustomerService,
I have a 2009 Pontiac G8 GT with 54,XXX miles. Just 2 weeks after my factory warranty expired (Feb 7th) my car started missing terribly. I took it to the Pontiac dealership and asked if it could be covered under warranty and they said no. I figured since having a mechanical background myself, would try to diagnose the problem myself. I checked all the plugs and checked for spark. All seems good. I don't have a lot of modifications to the car (exhaust, accel coils, cold air kit). I cannot figure this out and would like to see if you can provide me with any help. The car is basically a garage queen as I don't drive it very often. I ask that you could extend a hand to help me get my car back on the road?

I am having the P2724 transmission code and it got stuck in 2nd gear last night. I've seen that this is a somewhat common issue and some dealers are doing the repairs under warranty even though the cars are modified (since the issue arises from problems not related to the modifications), I currently have 80xxx miles and the car is modified, but I would like to know if this would be a warrantyable issue. I know the dealers around here like to tell us warranty is void if we do anything at all to the car.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Lifter Issue

Hello, I have just heard my first lifter tick that last for several minutes. I know there are 2 TSBs on the issue but my car is 6 months out of warranty with 58000 miles.

I guess my question is since there is a TSB will GM pay for a portion of the repair or am I on my own.

    thanks

    Hi Folks at GM support,
My name is Joe. I own a 2009 G8 GT, vin 6G2EC57Y09L154507 with 22,000 miles. For no reason the airbag light came on. Being in the car business, I was able have it scanned at the local GM dealer. Fault- "no communication from psg module" I'm hoping for some assistance. I sometimes deal with 200,0000 mile Honda's that the manufacture will still cover some aspects of the SRS. GM is making good cars now, the loss of owner loyalty and resale come down to customer care. I would be happy to send more information if you need. Best regards, Joe

I recently took my 2009 Pontiac G8 GT in to a GM dealership for a airbag recall, now the airbag light stays on. They keep trying to charge be $60-$100 to diagnos the problem. This is very frustrating, and it sounds like GM needs to do another airbag recall, it also says passenger airbag off on my rear view mirror.

long story but im limited on characters so hopefully you can help me out. Took my g8 with 40k into a local gmc dealership. airbag light was on steady. paid 90 dollars to have it diagnosed. Fixed the issues (new module and new connector on side rail airbag). Now light is completely off. no light at all. Took it back to the dealership. They reprogrammed it and now lights flashing. They said they dont know what else to do they are at a loss. I found this page and explained to them that tech missed something. I told them do it again. They did. it fixed it. now my bill is 260 for double the labor? Doesn't sound fair. I wouldn't charge someone double labor if i didn't do the procedure correctly? Any help?

I went to G8 g.o.n.e. on Sat. when leaving I started the engine with hood open someone had stated they heard excessive ticking noise. It always ticked at start up and goes away as it warms up I said, but when I got home I noticed he was right. It's very noticeable now and does not go away, even after oil change. Going to local chevy dealer to see what they con do.

I recently purchased a GM certified 2009 Pontiac G8 GT from a Cadillac Dealer. I have noticed that if I am going right around 50 mph and I coast to a stoplight the car slows down almost too fast while the rpms seem to fly up and down. I am not sure if this is common, if the transmission doesn't know what gear to be in or what. Can you please offer me some solutions?
