What is worth?

A car is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. (Just because)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think a bank will finance a total loss. ?

Book value is a reflection of what cars have sold for . not someones guess on value
If more people/Dealers sell them for more , the price in the books go up ...

A car or anything is worth what someone is willing to pay .

Make sure you look at the cost of ownership of this car. Call your insurance company and find out what full insurance is going to run you on this car. Also look at what this car is going to cost you to drive year round if that is your plan. Be honest with your self on mileage driven and what you can expect to pay in gas and service needed for this car. Oh one other thing. The G8 is not the greatest winter car but it can be used as one. So plan accordingly for that as well. Winter tires. I wish you luck and enjoy.

Edit: I just re-read your post and see that you owned a GT. I would still call your insurance agent to see if there is much difference. As far as gas milage. I am sure you already know this but will say just in case. The gxp does not have DOD and the MPG can be much different than you might expect. Again good luck.
Thanks! I also currently have an srt10 quad cab that gets only 7-9 mpg so the fuel is not an issue. Lol!

I saw that one. I've never seen a bank or c.u that would finance a vehicle with a rebuilt title.

O.p. ,yea a bank is gonna look at what the vehicles suggested n.a.d.a. price and base your loan on that. Mods to a vehicle is gonna hurt cause the seller will want the difference in price for those mods. So your probably gonna have to get some extra bucks some how to make up the difference. These cars tend to have a good resale value ,especially the gxp' s with there being fewer of them then the gt models. I saw a super low mileage gxp sell at auction for 43k. Someone here had posted a thread about it just recently. Others are right about it being worth what a person will pay but bank doesn't care. If you don't hold up on your end of the bargain and they have to repo it . They want to be able to get their money back and that's why they won't give you the extra cash for the loan.
Once in a while you'll see a great deal on a gxp,if you can be patient. There is a cheaper one posted for sale that is in Texas ,I think he's in Texas .

To a seller, the price is "worth" what they list the price as. How many times do we see people trying to get more money for a car because they modded it?

In the OP's case, the bank could give a damn of what they car is worth to the seller or the buyer. They feel the car is not worth the listed price.

Not everyone is honest so we can't generalize and some people will guess on value because they have their feelings tied up into a car.

Let's not be so sensitive GXP owners.

The solution here is simple, get a GXP for not more than NADA retail. It can be done.

None that I have ever heard of. As a matter of fact some come straight out and ask even before applying for the loan to make sure it doesn't have a rebuilt title.
