What is an Approved dealer?

The simple and basic rules that ALL dealers must follow to remain a part of our community are thus:

1. no price gouging. The "M" in MSRP, to us, means "Maximum"

2. no hidden add-ons to inflate price; $500 for $49.95 paint sealant is one example

3. accept that the customer may know more than the salesperson about the car and give respect to all members

Dealers have been banned for violating these simple caveats.

APPROVED DEALERS
Approved dealers are those Pontiac dealers that through postings and/or recommendations from members have proven to be set apart from the average stereotypical "tin man". Approved dealers put their customers first, offering even the simplest of courtesies that make car-buying from them a satisfying and enjoyable experience. Not every customer will have the same excellent experience but these dealers promise to "do whatever it takes" to earn the highest marks on that all-important Customer Satisfaction Survey.

Are there dealers already part of our community that we have missed? yes Should YOUR dealer be a part of this? maybe, but we won't know unless you tell us
Does your exceptional dealer even know about us? probably not, and that's where members can help members. Bring us to their attention. Watch for a forum press release and downloadable invitation that you can use to spread the word. (coming soon)

G8board is the premiere internet forum dedicated to the Pontiac G8. Over the past two years we have grown by leaps and bounds and cater to the social networking of Pontiac, and specifically the G8, enthusiasts from around the globe. We can proudly point to members from the Holden assembly line to Caprice owners in Saudi Arabia to your very own customers down the street. G8board is part of the AutoForums network.

We are a "dealer friendly" forum. We welcome dealers that strive to abide by certain simple criteria that basically boils down to giving exceptional customer service. We do not tolerate price gouging above MSRP (even on the GXP). We do not tolerate bait and switch or tactics that include pushing overpriced unnecessary products or protection packages onto unsuspecting customers.

What's in it for you? Extra exposure among educated and dedicated car enthusiasts ready to purchase. What's it cost to participate? Nothing, except some time. We do not charge dealers for the privilege of joining our community and becoming part of it. We don't even charge dealers that achieve "approved" status which grants them additional perks and a special subforum. All we ask is that you be the kind of dealership you would want your mother to buy from.

Do only mega-dealers benefit from this program? We understand that not every dealer is able to participate in all of the allowance and incentive programs offered by GM so some dealers across the country may be able to offer us deals you cannot even touch. But local continuing customer service after the sale has an intrinsic value that can surmount "cheapest price".

What can you sell? We limit our dealers to selling cars, service, and accessories as part of our free program. We have a separate supporting vendor program for dealers operating an online parts and performance store front.

Like I said, it'll cost you nothing but time to check us out and determine if your dealership should expand into community forum participation. This invitation comes your way via a currently satisfied customer-forum participant.
