GM Response to Seat Belt Issue Confirms Holden based Chevy SS
My dealer had sent off pictures to GM of the cable portion of the front seats belts rubbing against the plastic on the side of the front seats.
In an email sent back to the dealer, GM says that they have no plans to solve what has already been built but going forward a correction is planned.
The email continues: ...a fix is planned for MY11.5 Chevy Police Program and MY12 Chevy SS. The fix will involve a protective sleeve that covers the buckle and section of the buckle stem that rubs on the plastic trim.
Hopefully these meand that there will be future Holdens coming to our shores that we all can buy.
Time for them to come up with something new!!! Why would they change the Cavilier to the Cobalt and then bring a brand spankin new car to the States and label it with a mediocre car. WTF? GM needs to take themselves far away from their past.
there is the chevy version of the G8 coming next year, but its the new caprice, and only available to government officials as fleet cars- like the cops, as crown vic replacements.
thye are coming but we cant get them.... yet.

Hope they give it a different name. Lumina SS?? The original sucked.
My wife had a Eurosport and it was a great car. My daughter is driving one now, and after 130,000 miles it's still going strong. There's a couple rust spots on it, but that's not bad for a car that's 18 years old.

The Chevy police car that is coming over is a copy of the Holdon Commodore (like the old caprice classic) not the G8 slightly bigger not much. Just give them time, those police cars will go up for auction with in a few years.

Just to clear up any confusion, the above is wrong.
The G8 is essentially the same as the Commodore. Both cars use the short-wheelbase VE platform.
The new police car is similar to the Holden Statesman, which uses the long-wheelbase VE platform. (The Australian Caprice is an uplevel version of the Statesman.)
More like for me. I'm now down to just two or three bits of information that I shouldn't disclose. My signature's validity doesn't have much time left.

I'm just smiling because you moved this from the "Speculation, nothing to see here" department to the "Absolutely Confirmed" department with your comment.
And damn you, now you've intrigued me even more than I already was with those extra bits of secret info you mentioned...

Bah, if they did not want the info you have to leak then you would not have that info........
Give it to us and we promise not to tell anyone
