Internal lots like A, B, D are paved I think. I know for sure a couple were. Outlying lots like C, E, F, G, K are not. Sorry, I'm not sure if H is paved or not. I was paying more attention to the track and facilities, so didn't look for all the parking areas. The Speed channel broadcast did some flyovers that showed all the parking lots.

Sounds good. Thanks for the update and hope you had a great time at the race! What is your overall impression of the facility so far? Anything you noticed out of line or anything odd since it was the first event? It's going to be a great trip.

The track is awesome from my perspective. Most seating areas and facilities seem to be complete, some were temporary. There are still things that are not complete that do not affect racing like parking lot paving, missing sidewalks, etc. Our local coverage indicates that the racers really liked the track other than it being a bit slippery due to it being new. But that will get better with every racing event. Due to all the elevation changes and seating areas obstructing the view, many spectators can only see 1 to a few turns, but that's the nature of this type of track. But there are large screens everywhere so that you can see what's going on around the track.

dsepite numerous attempts to get a response from the V8 Supercars management in Australia, I have no news...so far. I haven't given up yet and have a few other ideas as I attempt to get something off the ground. The series governing body really need to get onboard with this, I think it is a great idea and would benefit the growth of the series over here in the USA.....saying that, the rumor mill is rife with tales of Speed TV going south and become almost a fully fledged Nascar channel while they ignore/don't renew other racing series covergae. F1 has gone to NBCSports (formerly Versus) and I hear that they will not be covering the V8's, World Superbikes or MotoGP in 2013. Have placed a number of calls to Speed but nobody wants to return any calls ....stay tuned

Greeting from ls1gto.com!

We've got a list of cars that are going to the race, 21 committed and 7 maybes (http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=452040). I can't find a similar list on g8board.com anywhere, although I came to this thread and another (http://www.g8board.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55654). I see bracketracer and Boss Hogg seem to be taking the reins on liaising with CotA, Holden, V8 Supercars, etc, but has anyone in particular teamed up with the GTO crowd? The way we're going to be recognized is with the strength of numbers behind us. Just thought I'd swing by and see what's up!

It was, but if I remember correctly, no one could get a response from the track as to whether or not we could have a space to hold an event.

If there is a GTO/G8 gathering, I plan on being there whether I attend the race or not. I have relatives that live very close where I can stay.

I will pop in here to remind folks that the G.O.N.E. event won't be moving to Texas in 2013 to coincide with the inaugural V8 Supercar Series race. The event likely will be moving to Texas in 2014, but it will happen in Sept/Oct. I wanted to make this clear so that someone else can step forward to coordinate something to happen for the race weekend.

Where are you guys booking hotels at? I booked near the airport didn't want to drive downtown after a long day with the kids and it looks like the airport is pretty close.
