Camaros are great for the price. I don't think you can score TSWs for the same price. I haven't seen another G8 with Camaros. The only odd looks I get is from Camaro drivers thinking "wtf is my wheels doing on THAT car?!" haha

cheap, cheap and cheaper

BTW. The camaro 20s + the General AS03 tires = not that bad as compared to OEM 19s with the heavy OEM RE050s.

When considering weight, wheels is just one part of the equation. Tire weight is just as or more important as that weight is hung off the end of the diameter of the spinning package.

Camaro's if price and look are most important.
TSW's if performance, braking and handling are most important.

Con, having to buy all new 20" tires to replace my still fresh factory 19" tires. Rim Cost+Plus tires puts this mod in the way future for me.

What do 4 fresh tires for a Camaro run?

To me if you're doing something with price as the main motivation, you'll end up wishing you got what was a better all around purchase instead of saving a few bucks. JMO, to me Nurburgrings look way better and are something you'll never see. Whether you see them on g8s or not, you'll definitely see Camaro rims everyday. I've never seen anybody with TSW Nurburgrings on any car in person period. Originality is key, and TSW Nurburgings on a G8 is a WIN for me in that aspect. You can get TSW wheels in wider than 9", so that's an invalid argument as well.

I dont, but I'm sure you see a 5 spoke style wheel 10x as much no matter who you are or what side of this argument you're on.

Personally, I think the TSW's or CSL's or anything that style looks to busy. I like a simpler look, and the Camaro wheels do it for me for now. I have't seen another G8 around here with them, and they compliment the car nicely. Plus, if you ever had to replace one, they are easy to get ahold of. I do wish they were lighter though.

You bring up a good point about replacing the wheels. Camaro wheels would be easier to replace. That is definitely a Pro.

Another Con is the fact that I will be using my stock 19"rs for my winter set-up, and going with the TSWs would really be a different beast in aesthetics and weight. I really think the design of the Nurburgrings and other similar wheels add a sense of style and class to the G8. I am definitely leaning towards the TSWs.

No offense but the Nurburgrings look to me to be the latest fad as Breyton's were when I first started looking for wheels in '09. EVERYONE was buying Breyton's.
Note, the Camaro wheels are also a huge fad. Once again, I don't mean fad as a bad thing because I feel the G8 looks good and so different with different wheels. Well, except for huge bling 22" chromed wheels.
I feel the 5 spokes offer more of a muscle look to the G8, while the multi-spoke look more European. JMO

I still don't think there are that many people with TSW wheels on the G8 to be honest. A ton more with Camaro wheels, but yeah, they've been gaining a head of steam. When I got mine, I did not see another MSM with them on this board.

VMR's are also nice

Personally I would go for the Camaro wheels. I am a fan of 5 spoke wheels. Yes there are alot of members on here with them, but that's it.We don't see each other daily on the street. A g8 in my area just put on a set of camaro wheels less than two weeks ago. Its the first that I have seen in person. Yes we see these wheels each day on camaros but our cars have a different presence. They stand out on our cars more, to me. But if you are looking for more performance then consider the other wheels.

Camaro wheels look great on these cars. I get compliments everywhere I go with mine. I have yet to see another G8 on the street with the camaro wheels. I sure if I went to a G8 meet there would be plenty but there would also be tons of TSWs Breytons etc.
I went with the 275/35 on the rear as I couldnt stand a smaller diameter on the rear than the front. The 275/35s ride great. This setup actually rides better than the factory 19s with worn out tires. Do what makes you happy.

On a sidenote, may want to consider also that 20s will have an almost nonexistent sidewall. Idk about you, but where I live lots of potholes dirt roads etc. Already had to replace one bent wheel. If I could do it again, I would go 19s for the added sidewall protection if not 18s

Ahh yes...this is also something that I was considering and forgot to mention.....sidewall. This is my DD and a family DD at that. Getting 18"rs would allow me to utilize 40s and not 30s or 35s.

You all have really given me some good pros and cons and it is much appreciated! Guess I should say I am THANKFUL since it is now Thanksgiving....lol

I would have to look, but I think I have a set of new BBS CH replicas in 18" in my garage. They are silver with a machined stripe on the lip (not real visible because the colors are very similar). The price would be very cheap (when my company makes something good, I always buy some for craigslist sales. I never posted these because I always considered using them myself someday). Its a look I haven't seen on a G8 yet.

Agreed with most. Camaro rims are too damn heavy and I can tell a "seat of my pants" difference when I go back to my stock GXP rims, which I run in the winter months.

I am looking at getting something lighter, maybe VMR 710's.

Definitely helps to have the extra cushion there when needed. Unfortunately I learned that the hard way lol
