Default 12 volt power outlet ground?

I have already securely grounded the cigarette lighter outlet, but I am still getting some feedback when I watch video on my head unit. I think I have possibly traced it down to a bad ground connection on my adapter, which is the ground, the end of the adapter or the springs on the sides?

The sides. Or you can use nearly any exposed (non-painted) metal surface as the ground.

There's a bolt that's already being used as a ground on the right hand side of the center stack behind the passenger side triangle trim piece. You can loosen that up, slip your ground wire in, and tighten back down for a solid ground. Or put a grommit on your wire and loop it around the bolt.

Ground Loop Isolator circuits on the RCA side sometimes fix the alternator whine also.

good luck!
