Im out of Bumper to Bumper at 43k miles. My Driver's side door does this about 50% of the time. My dealer's $110+ per hour flat rate makes me nauseous.

My front passenger door does it about 1/2 the time. I just bought the car last saturday. I hope the dealer will cover it when I take it in tomorrow for a detail. All his guys were off for Christmas, so I took it as is. Gives me a chance to list all the little issues I have discovered. One of the steering wheel buttons sticks, too. Only 27K miles for a 2008 wasn't bad.

Be nice to the service advisor, let them know the issue and ask for assistance they can provide. Even if they don't cover the entirety of the repair, they'll have to submit it at warranty rate and part prices- and possibly do a 50-50 with you.

I had both passenger door locks changed under warranty. When I started explaining to the service rep what was happening he stopped me and immediately ordered new switches for me. Apparently he knew what I was going to say and describe before I did. This must happen all the time and is a known problem at the dealerships. The problem is that the motors aren't designed to operate every single time the car is placed into/out of park. Since I'm good with electronics I broke into the lock circuitry and disabled that function if my foot is on the brake. Since your foot must be on the brake when shifting into/out of park the locks don't actually work. Some attorney must have disallowed the use of an automatic lock defeat option in the setup menu.

I'll be the odd ball here and say that my passenger front door lock has been doing this every now and then. It looks like the lock button on the inside gets stuck about half way to showing unlocked but it's still locked. If I press the unlock button again it unlocks and you can open the door. I'll have to keep my eye on the actuator.

Yep, experiencing this in Right rear door. Intermittent. Disappointed with how many things have gone wrong in 53k miles.

The dealer repaired a ground wire that fixed the trunk light, fixed the sticking steering wheel button, and replaced the door lock actuator to repair the sticking door lock. The get an "A" for that, but the salesman did try to tell me that Goodyear RSA tires were run flats.

Here is a followup from the original thread on this issue. I has Michelle from GM Customer Support log a case number for me and then took my car into the dealer with a copy of the various threads from this board and they replaced both rear door actuators under warranty, even though my B2B is expired. They also found another oil leak (I think this one was the position sensor near the rear main) which also got fixed for free too. They even replaced the battery in my remote fob as well for free. I have to say I have been quite impressed with GM for their support with my repairs.

My Right rear door always needed an extra press of the unlock button before it would unlock whereas the other doors worked as expected. There is a child proof switch on the door jam. Use your key to put it into the lock position and then back to unlock a few times with a quick unlock the last time. After doing this mine worked fine.
