Yes the fast is transferable, and so is the intake ...I am not to sure, Rob at champion will be looking into this. Just a cam would be nice on the vette, can hit 11s with some DRs.


UPDATE:

Talked with the dealer, said that no way im paying 50k for it when KBB is 44-45k excellent condition. I offered 44.5k *with 21k for my car* ...waiting for response, dealer rep has to talk to owner.

Dealer also test drove my car and convo went something like this:

Dealer rep: "Its got ballz, doesn't seem like it would"
Me: *grin*
Dealer rep: "so smooth"
Me: *grin X 2*

I guess all that meticulous 5k oil changes, 60k trans oil changes, allignment checks, balancing checks, air pressure checks, does pay off
Since im living my life through you what dealer is this? There is a nice 100th anniversary GS @ Royal Chev in orangeville. I was going to go see that for fun saturday.

To take this back to what you want. You want power/weight ration gains. Vette has it. Get the deal bro. Worst case they say no you just sell your g8 private and get one from the US. The process is very easy and i can show you how to do it. Moderate to no cost also (just pay RIV and get the inspections and pay normal HST like you would here anyways).

I think its the driving experience. I drove a base C6 this summer and from a power perspective it was the same from an acceleration as my level of mods, but the braking and turning was outstanding (and it was not magentic ride pkg). Ive seen the light in regards to turning and stopping.

VJ u going for LS3 or stopping or turning? What do you want to do?

The dealer I am working with right now is Dean Myers, a friend told me about a sales person he knows really well there and has good ties with the sales manager.

UPDATE 2:
I got a counter offer from the dealer of (19k for my car and 48k for the vette) - I told them no way. I am not paying more than 44.5k for the vette and even that is iffy because of the coming of the C7. Honestly if the rumors are true and the c7 is going to be priced at 60k I am already 75-80percent covering the price of the C7 right now.

Yeah I hear ya Rich, or my 3rd option is to drop a 402 forged motor in the G8 and say eff the vette. Put some giggle gas in it (Champion said they can set this up) nicely. But honestly i still feel a little off (deprived) in the cornering and braking department.

Ideally id like something with decent amount of balls (LS3 would work) and has great stopping and cornering, I was thinking of hitting up some tracking events this summer. Now I have learned to do this in the G8 i have to find a way to put it on a major diet, which is not really what I want to do as the G8 has to remain classy. Stripping out the interior and making it look ghetto with missing parts all over is not what I envision for my G8

Finally picked up on this thread to see what was going on. Amazing what a "good deal" is on a relatively new Corvette.
My first new car was a Corvette, bought it new in 1972 down on Eight Mile Rd
past Evergreen at Dexter Chevrolet. $5250 delivered with a full tank of gas.

Well i called the guy back and said if 48k is the best he can do, he can keep it. I understand they got to sell my car so 21k might now allow them to reap a profit on it, but 44.5 is already high for that GS i think.

So looks like the deal is at a stalemate right now.

Base price for the coupe was $4450.
Conv was $4250. The optional hardtop was $200, so they were "even"...

Well i think instead of going GXP route, i might just swap a motor and do the trans up in my GT (402 forged motor and built trans)

Well, I think the G8 is going to get stored for now. I will be driving around in a prelude to try and save kms on the G8 + wear and tear.

The deal fell apart as the dealer would not meet me at my price. After much back and forth yesterday, I walked out and said they can keep it, I did not want a 2010 GS that bad for the price they were asking, i could not swallow the fact that I was covering 75 percent + on the price of what a new c7 would start off at.

Oh well just wait for the C7 for now.

You are your own boss and know what you want inside. Before you go off on the g8 modding spree wait until c7 pricing comes out and drive a c7. Dont worry about the deal falling through. The dealership is losing out anyways. They'll call you back once they see they cant sell it @ the price they're asking.

C7 is worth the wait. The grand sport will depreciate a lot more than your g8 will in the time it takes the C7 to be ready for delivery. No shame in walking away from a sour deal.
