Default Nissan Maxima

I work with a guy who has told me repeatedly how quick his '07 Maxima SE is. Even before I bought my GT, he had mentioned it.

I'm not sure why, but he asked me yesterday if I would race him. He KNOWS what I've got under the hood. So, after work tonight we lined up. Knowing I wouldn't need anything more, I left it in normal mode and proceeded to smoke him without even trying. Just firm, increasing pressure on the gas was enough to give me at least 3 car lengths by 80mph (it was probably more, but I'm not good with distances).

After I let off, he caught up and just shrugged. I'll be interested to hear what he says tomorrow.

I know, not a big kill, but he asked for it!

True, no one can come in and say something like "well, the guy just couldnt drive" or anything like that. But hey, easy kill or not, still counts!!

Can't wait to hear his story tomorrow.

"Ugh, I had traction control on....errr....I was playing with the Nav....errr.....my GT-R would smoke you!"

Love the part that he asked for it. Nothing like putting someone in his place after he talks smack that he can't back up.

Haha, my buddy test drove a new max and said it was "super fast". Then he went for a ride in my car for the first time when I brought it home from school...everyone knows what happened next...lol, silly import people mistaking "quick" for real torque and speed.

we just got a 2009 Altima 2.5 S. it's definitely not the fastest thing in the world, but with the variable transmission it feels like you are driving in first gear forever! lol. seriously, you can push the gas pedal and it's instant response. never feel it shift, unless you put it in the manu-matic mode. it's a 6spd auto.

Yeah I think that variable trans would freak me out, I wounldn't be used to the lack of shifting.
And I'm laughing at your avatar, good one. Around here they put up signs saying "Bump" instead of fixing the f'ing things.
