at mo HPDE ( High Performance Driving Events ) there are rules on where you can pass cars. We are not racing, we are learning.
How to brake into a trun, apex points, exit points and stuff like that. And with newish drivers they sometimes dont do things in a perdictable manor like a race driver may.
So the rules are no passing without a pointbye and only passing ( A &B groups in my case The Front and Back streched ) and C group can pass in the straight from turn 7 to turn 8.
Over all it is a safty thing, as you get into more and more advanced run groups or events you can pass all willy nilly.
So in one part of the video you see me point bye, pull my arm in and point bye again, you have to signel each car you are allowing to pass will a clear signel as to Out side or Inside pass. The passing car passes out of the prefered driving line.
A few times I was off kilter to the prefered line and pointed people to pass in the prefered line to avoid any issues.
I posted this as a collection of 2 of my C run group sessions. I was the "Rolling Speed Bump" meaning one of the slower guys on track for that group. I was still running my stock street pads, and hard azz winter tires so I was not going to set the world on fire time wise. Also I have only a little experance on road courses, I went into the C group to free up instructors for others at the event as I have no ego on getting passed and I know to point bye the faster cars.
Hell getting passed by a lot of these hurts my feelings not at all, if I had wanted to the Neons would have never been able to really pass me if I had wanted to ( by thats a dick move ) and my goal was to attempt to only be lapped once per 30 min driver session.
The red GT3 and the Z06 were the only ones that consistantly got me a 2nd time w/o pitting.
Look at some of the local road courses for a HPDE and sign up, it is a blast, you will learn that while you think you are at the edge, the car will go a LOT further than you are comforatble going
