Default Pontiac G8 Paint Information

Pontiac G8 Paint Information

Whether you're sprucing up your engine cover or touching up a chip sometimes you need some color-matched paint. When that happens you're going to need the paint code for your vehicle. You can look all over your car for a label that has it listed or you can just look here. Here are all the colors for the Pontiac G8 along with along with the equivalent Holden color names and GM paint codes along with some other information. Good info indeed. However, for shades of the same color it's still best to look under your hood to verify that you are in fact looking at the right color. Someone might think they have Stealth Blue Metallic when in fact they have Stryker Blue Metallic.

Well, so long as they know what year their car is they shouldn't have any problems. All of the Stealth Blues were built in the 2008 model year, all 590 of them, and there weren't any Stryker Blues built in 2008. (Then again I've known a few people who aren't completely sure what model of car they drive, let alone year)

The point is valid though, if you are not absolutely sure what color your G8 is then go check under the hood to be sure before you buy anything. Really, only refer to this if you're sure of the color but just can't remember that pesky paint code

If your car has any purple in it at all it's Stealth Blue. 2008 Model year only.
Stryker blue was NOT available in 2008. So if you have a blue car from the 2008 model year it's either a Stealth Blue or custom painted.

Those paint pictures really don't do justice to the actual colors....they make the colors look really similar. But as you can see below, they are quite different from one another.

Good info. Thanks. If any one wants' to verify the color for their car I found mine on a tag in the trunk under the wheel cover. It may be in a few other places to but for the life of me I have no idea why they put it there. Found it by pure accident.

I just went to the dealer and ordered it for the small chips. But I did have to have part of the left front fender repainted when a truck hit me with a rock and put a dime size nick all the way to the steel

+1! Very useful thread! I had no idea there was two different Blues! I thought the purplish cars i saw on here were custom.
I think I like the name Evoke Metallic better than Magentic Gray Metallic.

I have to agree that some of the Australian color names are cooler than the local variety. I mean, come on, you can't deny that Switchblade Silver Metallic and Red Passion Metallic are better sounding than Maverick Silver Metallic and Sport Red Metallic.

Great information and photos, thanks for posting. I wonder why the name changes for North America?

I've used this place to get paint for my brazen orange GTO and they did a very good job at matching the factory color. I took a chance and was surprised. I painted a few suspension pieces and underhood parts. They have touch up as well as spray cans. I used spray. If admin has a problem with the link, I'll edit it.

Nice! I just got my Heron White paint touch-up bottle from Paintscratch.com for like $15. It's perfect. Can't even tell that there were ever rock chips in the paint.

I'd tape all around the chip with painter's tape, and then use light brush strokes of paint onto the area. Then remove the tape.

Thanks. I am planning to do it this weekend, just have been concerned about smudging a blob of paint onto my hood.
