2011 Maserati Gran Tursimo Convertible
My dad went with me to get my car dynoed again (in Mexico ) after an HP Tune, and we had a chance to line up at a stoplight on the way back. My dad just got this a few weeks ago. It has a 4.7 L v8 with 433 HP and 361 lb-ft torque. According to tests I've seen online, it runs 0-60 in 5.1 seconds and quarter-mile in 13.2. I've been telling him for the past week that my G8 was tested about the same in 0-60 runs, and he kept discounting it.
So, we're at the light and I look over, "You wanna do this?"
Dad "Do what?"
Me "Run"
Dad "Yeah, let's go up to uhhhh...now" as he punches it. Light just turned green and he got a jump on me.
I mash it in Sport mode, but in all my excitement, did not turn off traction. I quickly stopped him pulling away and then started pulling on him. As I was passing him, he looked at me and I could tell he wasn't believing what he was seeing.
We ran up to 95 and let off as I was quickly coming up on a small SUV in my lane. Right before letting off, we had leveled off to where his bumper was about even with my trunk lid (thereabouts). I think if we went another 25-30 MPH, he might have reversed things. From tests, he should be faster in the quarter.
Nonetheless, it was a good spirited run with my dad. He and I have always been car guys and I got it from him. It was pretty neat actually.

Great story and good kill. Must make the kill extra sweet when it is taking out your Old Man!
Your car really moves and it looks like Shane is one hell of a Tuner.

New dyno #s are:
HP: 315 (up from 307)
Torque: 333 (up from 327)
Still running too rich and Shane and I have a resolution plan for this.
However, if it were not for this tune, I probably would've had my rear handed to me due to the slopping shifting. So, there are other gains out there beyond HP and Torque gains.
Hey, r1, yes other car is gone...for now. Supposedly new 2012 coming out is what he has eye on. If I ran that, I would've been man-handled.
