Default Vector Tune and Roto Fab Combo Dyno Sheets (With Roto ONLY Results as well!)

Sorry it took so long to get these up, seems after we FINALLY got our dyno printer situation setup we got SLAMMED and havent had a spare second till today to get these up. You'll see two sheets here, the first one being the our Roto Fab Tune and the Roto Fab VS. Stock, The other is the pull with JUST the Roto Fab. This is the same car in both instances so you can compare it to the "stock baseline" pull.

Thanks! Great info.

That torque curve is impressively flat, in all cases.

Does anyone have 1/4 mile or 0-60 times with the Roto-fab and VSM tune out there?

So you made 22hp and 22ft-lbs with just a rotofab cold air intake?

Correct, this is right in line with Roto-Fabs advertised gains as well as what other shops have reported. We couldnt believe our eyes so we did another pull just to confirm the gains.

Interesting. I often wonder how these cold air kits make so much power. After all they are sealed up under the hood with no real cold air forced into them. But they do get allot of hot air from the engine compartment.

Maybe its like the old days when you could find power by flipping the air cleaner lid on your 350 chevy.

I'm having a hard time digesting these numbers with CAI kit. I find it hard to beleive that adding a CAI gives that miuch more power on the G8. When i added a CAI kit on my 05 jag, and after extensive dyno pulls, best number in HP was a whopping 5hp! And that was with the hood open and cold air from a fan blowing at it.

I'll have to take my G8 to Toms river guy and have him test this out.

Anybody out there do there own testing?

So did we, however there are now numerous tests showing nearly the same gains so it definately backs up its claims. Heck I think this makes the sixth or so dyno sheet i've seen from as many different places

It actually does get some cold-air. When we ran my car on the dyno there was a fan blowing on the front of the car and you could feel it come up into the air box from around the fog light hole.

So 41hp over stock w/ the tune and intake correct? If you have a tune only, its 30hp over stock right? 20hp for the intake on a stock motor but its not as much with a tune, why is that?

That is because the Roto-Fab intake already leaned the car out 1/2 of a point.

The main gain in HP comes from leaning this car out.

Just imagine the Roto-Fab with a tornado installed before the MAF. It would create a super whirlwind and make the mixture that much leaner. It could be worth another 20.

I'm hoping to get over to a 1/4 mile track soon, so I can see what kind of 1/4 mile time I run now with the RF CAI & VMS 93 octane tune / TCM tune.

I am very happy with my Roto Fab CAI & Vector Motorsports ECM/TCM tune, in all my driving out on the roads. The car is definitely way better than stock now.

That makes since. Kevin reported his car going 1/2 pt rich though. Does this depend on the car or dyno or what? Dumb questions but am a little puzzled. My car also went rich with the Roto-fab by a pt.

My Roto-Fab/Vector Tune just came in today ... Install on Thursday (6/25/08)

The guys at VMS said that it's 40+ at the wheels ... and 50+ at the crank ...

So I guess you can say you have 411 hp !

Why not round it up to 425 and call it good?

Every engine response differently to mods., if you don't put it on a dyno you are only guessing as to what hp it makes. I have already ran 13.51@105.65 with magna flows & cai . Next a vms tune , I have access to a dyno in S. Jersey, so I will test the results of the whole package, I'll post them. A helpful hint ,when racing , remove the engine cover ,it retains a bunch of heat.
