Default POLL: Wreckwriter vs Daniel Linnett at ECS

Who do you got? Last years ECS winner during time trials? Or the World Record Holder in the bracket racing later that same day?

On one hand you have a Drag Car with full cage and t400 Trans with D1 procharger and nitrous on stock block.

On the other you have a DD street car with a 410Cu with a metric ton of nitrous

Vote and give your reasons.

since you said poll but didn't have a poll, I added one for you, Daniel. If this is not what you wanted, I could easily remove it also. Good discussion, both are very fast cars, I'd love to see a video from this upcoming encounter!

This will actually be decided in a few ways. The G8 King trophy will go to the quickest ET during 2 specific qualifying runs. At some point, either before or after that, Dan and I will line up next to each other for at least one heads-up pass. This can happen on any run except the first one. My first run off the trailer is always a warm-up not run at full power.

The G8 record, of course, can be taken on any run and will count win, lose or draw regardless of the car in the other lane. I'd venture to say that the record will fall several times before the day is out.

His stock block also has stock internals. I hope he atleast has put in ARP rod bolts!!! Those will be the first thing to go.

My Daily Driving street car will be on the Foot brake just like it was when I broke the record last time. I will still be using the 6l80e and not a drag racing transmission.

I like the fact that people are underestimating me. gives me for fuel!

I know, Daniel. That raises the stakes considerably. I wasn't underestimating you, I was provoking you.

Just like dinner at the yard house last year, it's all good!

All it takes is for this Century transmission to let go and I will have them put in a Glide or T400 with a transbrake. This is a DD so I really dont want to but if the 6l80 cant handle it then we will do what we need to.

Daily driver as in you drive the car every day? Seems like the car is down more than it is running.

Not trying to stir the pot but my definition of daily driver means that you actually drive it every day. A commuter so to speak...

Theres something to be said about a guy who's willing to break (or fix her to keep going) fast! If Daniel wasn't pushing the envelope so to speak would others be as willing to push theirs? There has to be a goal or something to best and right now its him.

By years end Im sure there will be a few 9 sec sedans and thats awesome so good luck to everyone who pushes their cars regardless of the make be safe out there fellas and make videos for those of us who cant be there to see it unfold.

Tough call! Didnt even know there was an ECS this year. Hopefully both go fast! When is it? I might be able to make it even though my car is slow.

A full manual 4L80 is available so you can retain lockup and overdrive. Pretty stout piece that is the best of both worlds. But really the TH-400 isnt that bad on the street. I can cruise at 3k RPM with 3.70 gears (only 3-400RPM over my 3.45's) and get 19-20MPG even with a 454 and unlocked converter.

Goodness looks like the cockpit of a 7 or 8 second car, not a 10 second street car. Wreck has to run 9's to back up the look, haha.
