Default Rear door lock sticking - anyone else?

Anyone else have this problem? After driving, you put your car in park and it sounds like all the doors unlock but one of the rear ones sticks. The little switch near the handle looks unlocked but the door will not open. If you push the unlock button again it will actually unlock the door. Have not been to the dealer yet - just curious if this is a common problem? The child lock is not set. Already checked that option.

Thanks,
Steve

I have that problem with my passenger side rear door. It doesn't do it all the time and it's not that often but it's annoying when it does happen. Haven't checked it out yet though so I don't know what causes it.

yep, some say that the actuator in the right rear door isn't as strong (it's furthest from the relay, maybe related to not having enough amps to flip it all the time)

There are a few threads on this topic that might help you.

Thanks guys - I read the links you sent and that looks like the issue I am having - RR door too. I'll check out the actuator. Not sure how I missed that thread the first time.

I have the RR-door that doesn't want to unlock all the time. 32,000 miles but has been doing it for the past 10,000 miles or so.

I find that on occasion when mine does it, relocking and re-unlocking the car fixes it (allows rr door to unlock as designed) most of the time. It's the few times when you yank on the handle and it stays locked that gets me baffled, feel like an idiot each and every time.

I feel exactly the same way when I do it. To compound the problem, that's where my 6 year old beast of a son sits, and it looks like he's going to dislocate his arm or yank the handle right off the door.

Hey guys!!!! I apologize for the time frame in which I'm posting about this, but I have documented the concerns. This means that what all of you are experiencing has been saved so many departments within General Motors will see them. I will be sure to provide updates as they become available to me.

Have the same issue on the passenger rear door. I have also had the issue where the radio will not turn off when I leave the car. Goofy little things, but can drive you nuts sometimes.

I had the same problem a year ago, and had the actuator replaced under warranty.

Mine does it about 3 out of 4 times when unlocking. I have to press the unlock button 3 times. Been doing it for years now. I now just press the unlock button on the remote 3 times.

Yep, both of my rear doors started doing this out of nowhere. I have to hit unlock an extra time because they get stuck halfway open/closed.

Seems to be a common issue. Add this to the list of crappy components in the car.

When did you have the vehicle into the dealership for the lock concerns, gtp6515?

I also had the same problem only in my front driver's side door. It was weird, it would stick where it wouldn't unlock unless you used a key. Other times, it would stick and even though you unlocked it, when you went to close your door, the locking mechanism was still be closed and my door wouldn't latch, it would just bounce back open. Luckily it was still under 30k miles at the time and the warranty covered it. I would take it to the dealer and just have them fix under warranty.
