Default 700 Club

So, what does it take in addition to cam and supercharger to be able to say my car has 700 hp?
Not at the wheels, granted.
But, crank.
So, when someone walks up and asks what it has...700 hp.

Cam and supercharger will get you there. What is more important are the supporting mods that will keep her running for more than a few months...internals (upgraded/forged), BAP or secondary fuel pump, injectors, cooling for transmission, some axles or diff work all that fun stuff. Getting to about 550 whp with a supercharger and decent cam isn't too hard, but you don't want your baby going boom. Now, this is all said with the caveat that MANY have run those kind of levels without doing much else besides bolting on the fun bits and leaving the rest to Jesus...and have had great success. So, YMMV

570-580rwhp, assuming 18% drivetrain loss would the equivalent to 700hp flywheel, more or less.

Cam and some kind of power adder.

BTW, you do NOT need forged internals to make 700 at the crank. Just an upgraded fuel system, and all the supporting cam accessories.

I plan on making close to 700, if not 700+ at the WHEELS on the stock motor once I turn the boost up a bit more. I'm probably at mid 600's on my current boost level (8-8.5lbs) These engine can handle 600 RWHP easily.

I'm at 577/540 on my old tune( over 600rwhp now) and I have a cam and supercharger on 9.5 lbs.

I also have all supporting mods that you should have besides axles and twin fuel pumps.
And I have 60000 miles and counting and all is well. Maybe 50 passes at the track.

It can be done, takes about $15000 or so to get there properly.
Injectors, fuel pump, suspension, axles for safety, transmission cooler, possibly a torque converter, and gauges would be a good start to support 700hp at the crank.

I'm with 04GT, a good cam kit with supporting parts (ie hardened push rods, Valve Springs, etc...) supercharger/turbo, BAP and you should be good to go. However, I do think you'll need to beef up the driveline, mainly axles, once you get north of 650 rwhp. But that's just my 2 cents.

Well that would be all well and good until he ran across someone that new anything about cars or Hennessy lol. I called Hennessy a couple of months ago to try and get them to do a kit for the g8, using my car as a tester of course haha, like the he 700 they have for the camaro. But not so such luck, they have zero interest in doing anything with our g8's

I have been debating doing something like this instead of a supercharger in the future. How many rpms were you taking it to?

If you don't mind me asking, how much did that cost because when I buy my GXP, I want to make that kind of power and be able to drive the car without worrying about it blowing up.
