Default holiday poll

i hate christmas with a passion i cant stand any bit of anymore.
its all i want, i want, i want and all the headaches of shopping and bitching bout how theres not enough time and arguing. i find u make all these plans just to hang with ppl once a yr and for some u dont care to even be around or in ur house and u just want it over already. and now with the ppl changing merry xmas and now wanting santa to not say ho ho ho its jus another day to waste time and money

so reason for this poll/rant is after buying some stuff the person said have a happy holiday, i in turn say merry xmas and got ragged out saying i shouldn't say that i was like wtf, r u seriously kidding they said its not politically right i said fine fuk u bah fukin hum bug there is that politically correct enuff for ya

this will be interesting to see results and comments

i agree. i worked in retail for years and always had to say "happy holidays" to the customers, drove me nuts. if a customer said happy holidays or merry christmas, i wouldn't correct them.

I love it and am proud and thankful for what and who it represents.
This message is always lost in all the hoop la, agreed, the wants get excessive, but we need to always remember that Christ is Christmas and without him, there would be none.

If you get some extra time off work, what's not to like? Spend it with family, tearing up a windy mountain road, installing that maggie, whatever.

Am I missing something? When did we decide that "ho ho ho" was offensive?

The holidays are a mixed bag for me.
It has some good things and bad things associated with it.
I just try to keep the right people around me and focus on the good things.

With that said, I just want to give a fair reminder that religious content is not permitted even in the Lounge.

Why did you let the world ruin the celebration of our Savior's birth for you? If one does not believe in God, or that His son was born for us, then I can see Christmas having the potential to wear one down.

But for those who believe amidst the secular absence of God, the truth still remains! His will be done regardless of what we say about the holiday. The reality of that truth, and the grace, mercy, and salvation that it brings is the story we need to be reminded of. It is why we tell it each year, so that we are reminded of our gift and to help us regain our spiritual perspective of prophesy fulfilled. I would suggest to anyone who is feeling this way to walk out of the mall and into your local church's production of the Christmas story. Then visit a soup kitchen or food pantry and become the hands and feet of Jesus. The gifts you can provide there will be more appreciated than the secular gadgets in the malls. A bowl of soup to the hungry trumps an Xbox to a teen every time.

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." ~Romans 12:2

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” ~John 16:33

Just another day for me and has been for quite a while. No kids, no significant other or anyone else I'd exchange gifts or spend time with. The family that lives close to me don't get along with each other.

If you spend the holiday with one of them, the others get upset. If you try to coordinate time with each of them, they still get upset because they feel like they're having to accommodate you so you can go spend time with the others.

Besides, there's always someone at each place that I can't stand to be around for more than a couple minutes. One sister's ex always has to be there and start at least one argument or fight. The fact he mentally abused my sister and her two kids for years doesn't help my disposition towards him either.

Another sister has a daughter that is exceptionally rude and you can't really say anything about it because she's handicapped. That sister's husband always wants to argue about politics and his sister always wants to argue about anything. Just a really unpleasant environment.

It's just more stress than it's worth and I really don't have the extra money to be spending on gifts anyways. So, I just stay home, cook a Christmas dinner for myself and watch one of the more modern Christmas stories (Home Alone 1 or 2, NL Christmas Vacation, The Santa Clause, etc).

LMBO!! You started a thread about Christmas and asked for responses. That one is mine. I really don't care if I get banned or flogged or typed at. That is my response which was, at heart, an attempt to help you have a different perspective on things. Just trying to help.
