What does the xpipe do? Sound, performance, or both?

True that it will make it sound better and have a higher peak HP rating but there is a good possibility that the peak torque will be pushed out later in the power band. I think it peaks at 1900-2100 Rpms stock. This means you may be slower off of the line and every day city driving will feel more sluggish. Your mid to high end power will be improved. It depends on what's important. If performance is your main goal. I would personally just do axle backs or replace the stock mufflers. I didn't touch the resonators or mid mufflers and I had the best quarter mile on the board.

If you are able to add a tune to the x pipe than that's prob best. I just don't think the x pipe mod takes well to the stock tune

It's mainly just the fact that its a V6. It does not benefit as much with an X Pipe because it has an even firing sequence ( a cylinder from each side firing at the same time). A v8 on the other hand isn't like that and isn't even so it benefits much more from an x pipe.

I started a thread called h pipe may trump x pipe. Check it out. Summit racing recommends an h pipe over and x pipe for our v6s. Just more info to help you decide what's best

Do yourself a favour and don't put a x-pipe on. But if ur goin to anyways put on a magnaflow tru-x muffler( resonated x-pipe) that will help with the drone a lot

Ah ok, I currently have a standard system with GTS mufflers which dont drone and done purely for looks as the standard single pipes look a bit ricey (I'm in NZ btw).

I was just afte improving the exhaust note a bit without spending to much money as SWMBO won't let me lol

h pipe can reduce drone ?

is connected to a V6 G8 Rear Axle Spectacle solo by Solo Performance
Is corecte without drone ?

An H pipe in 99% of the cases would only create or worsen drone in a modified exhaust. You have a chance of decreasing drone with an X pipe
