Default Just snagged my first GXP

Ok, I'm new to the group, but I have been thinking about getting a GXP for about a year. I have always driven Pontiacs, back to my high school days in a 63 LeMans and my college days in a 65 GTO. My '02 Boneville SSEi has 191K on the clock is getting tired and needs enough work on it to the point where fixing it up exceeds the value of the car.

Three weeks ago I saw an ad on Cars.com for an '09 GXP SBM 6 speed manual with moonroof, with under 7400 miles at a Chevy, Buick, Caddy dealer, located where I grew up in Nanuet, NY. (about 190 miles away from me). That finally pushed me over the edge. One call later I was disappointed because some dude from california had put down a deposit, but wait.... he needed his mom to sign the loan for financing. The salesman told me to call beck the next day. I called three times the next day and he was still waiting to get the financing. But finally on the third call, he spoke to the GM and the GM said sell the car to me. So one credit card deposit later, the car was mine. I was not able to pick it up until yesterday. When I got there and looked over the car, he popped open the trunk, and sitting there were two 12" subs with a 1000 watt amplifier, a little bonus that he never told me about.

The drive back home down 95 was great. Tight handling, and all the power I needed to pass the slowpokes in the left lane.

Future plans are to add the analog gauges and car PC with touch screen, NAV, and a back-up camera. The forum has a lot of great information on it.

Welcome. Be sure to post updates about how you feel about the car as you have had it longer. I predict that you will find that this is the best sedan that you have ever owned.

Hey I was looking at that one before deciding on a different one, wasn't it a Panther Black (PBM) car?

Nice find and nice price. We still have our 2002 Bonneville SSEI. My daughter drives it when home from college and it has 'special' duties like driving around in the snow last night transporting a Christmas tree. It still surprises me how nice it feels even after all these years.

Welcome!

Congrats, and welcome to the GXP club. I bought mine like you, cause I had a 68 GTO in HS and sold it before going in the navy and wanted to own the last pontiac made.
