Yes, that surely would be fun.

While watching those full framed trucks in the video, I couldn't help but notice that if that were me in the drivers seat, the urge to tromp the **** out of it and tear up the snow would probably pull them off the wheels and rip the chains from the frame.

Maybe that's just my unstable nature.

Reminds me of the old days of snowmobiling, those things could go anywhere in the white stuff, FTW

Sick setup for sure.

I thought at first, that the system was limited to just the height of the tracks, like 12" of snow but it is a lot deeper than that.

I agree, it looks like it can't get into a 2 or even a 4-wheel drift and just tracks along. I had my 4WD truck out in an unplowed parking lot last week and my boy and I had a good time drifting around.

Jumping picnic tables in the trailer parks, on a buddies snowmobile to boot;

Imagine though, getting a full size truck stuck or having something on that system break and you don't have a buddy-truck. How the heck would one get themself out?, wait till spring?

Just stay in the cornfields/hayfields?

Not to mention the added benefit of less pressure per sq/in when having tracks on, makes it that much better for traction in powder. Always wanted tracks for my ATV, but right there is a good chunk of "Maggie" money

ha ha - When properly equipped with awesome performance snow tires, this car is amazing when it's rough out.

Honestly, I feel safer and more "in control" than if I had a cheap POS winter beater. Never once got stuck or in a bad situation in the g8 in all 4 winters so far, this car is amazing!! I am currently running the stock 18" GT rims with Hankook IceBear tires, those things have amazing grip!

Sure, I worry about "the other guys" sliding into me, but those who regularly commute in the bad stuff generally are better at preparing to stop and/or handle themselves when it's rough out. Plus, I can get up and out of the way if I see someone not paying attention or sliding out of control.

I guess I can say that "I feel like I'm wearing those tread things" when I drive the G8 in the morning when it's 24 degrees outside and slick. In complete control, along with the self-control-winter-driving techniques also required depending on conditions!

It takes a LOT of HP to make those tank-treads move.

My buddy has a CanAm quad and he had the tank-tread setup and said that the whole machine was so bogged down from all the power that the tracks need, he put the tires back on for the winter/full time.

Here is the Subaru with the treads;
