Heat Shield

Is it NECESSARY to have it on the car? Has anyone just tossed it out? Will the driveshaft center support get damaged by the heat from the exhaust? Mind you, Im OBX and catless...

If you want the tunnel to get hot and cause potential problems with the electronics beneath the center console, then leave it off.

Not guaranteed, but that's why it is on there.

You might find the cabin get a bit hotter than ordinary without something to deflect the heat in that location. The carpet has insulation, but on top of the tunnel where a few of the modules go is unprotected.

Are you able to exchange the replacement starter since it has a defect or is doing so not worthwhile?

I'd leave it in there, we had a club member leave his out and his poly carrier bushing melted.
