Ok, just finished up my install. Good instructions and the installation was easy as 1-2-3. Nice.

My first test, starting the car from inside house, approx 25 feet from kitchen window. Passed!
Before I had to go out into the sunroom and hold hand out the window....maybe 15 feet from car.

I'm heading out to dinner with daughter tonight and i have my own parking space (way in the back of Chili's!) approx 150 feet from door to restaurant. I could never start the car, even though you can see it from the moment you exit restaurant. So tonight will be my big test.

Evidently it's a line of sight signal, like you said if something's in the way it doesn't work.

The problem is the fob is made to work in Australia, and when we use it here the radio waves travel in the wrong direction above the equator.

Okay, this is going to drive me crazy. Did the 2009.5 trick and I gained maybe 10 feet in distance. I then take the back seats and everything off and try re-adjusting the antenna position and routing. Got about 100+ feet of coverage Put everything back together and it goes back down to about 30 to 40 feet

Done for today, I'll take the C pillar cover off tomorrow and try again to re-adjust the antenna position.

Oh and I have a brand new battery in the remote.

I think the FOB is just a POS. Sometimes it doesn't work when I'm 15 feet from the car. I do have to say I've never gotten the distance I do now with the new antenna though.

I've never had a problem with mine. It always works for me whether I'm next to the car or standing inside the house, shooting it through the glass screen door at my car parked in the garage that's 50 ft away. I don't have the range extender but I have 2008, so maybe they changed them on the 2009's.

My 09's range has always been decent, 30-40 paces. Sometimes, but not always, a car parked between me and the car will interfere.

Mine pre kit and 09.5 tweak would literally NOT work if I was ONE car length away and a car beween us. I can now start my car ~150-200 feet away with no issues typically although parking lots/vehicle orientation have a little effect but not as bad as before.

Starting to feel a lot better now. I took the C pillar cover off and decided to try placing the antenna in the middle of the C pillar (away from the wires that run above) and I'm getting much better distance. I started the car twice the distance I had before (around maybe 80') and unlocked the car at over 100'.

If someone is having distance issues, you could try that antenna position pretty easily.

I haven't had a chance to try it in different areas, but it's much more impressive now. It was designed to attach to the bundle of wires that run right next to the rear window, but it seems those wires were causing interference in my car, so I lowered the antenna away from that bundle of wires and its really stepped the distance up quite a lot.

Right now I have it kind of taped into place until I’m sure that’s where I want it. Then I’ll find a more semi-permanent mounting way later.

Can anybody tell me the 09.5 trick. I had a 09 Stryker Blue GT that worked far as hell (Easily ~200ft remote start) and then traded it in for a 09.5 Stryker Blue GXP that doesn't work worth crap. I can usually get a one button push (unlock or lock doors) the first time up to 150ft but once I hit that second button (lock the door then start button) nothing happens. I don't understand how it can repsond to the lock button but doesn't work when I hit the start button. I've had it at the dealer for over two weeks on this problem and they said that they fixed it but it's not much better than before.

Can anyone tell me where the antenna is as well? I'd like to try to troubleshoot this problem myself.

Installed mine last weekend. I was initially happy when i tested it. Worked from about 150' with a clear line of site. After testing it for a few days, it is not working that well. I tried starting from about 100' to 40' walking up to my car in a parking lot and nothing. There were other cars in the way obviously. It wouldn't start until i was walking up behind it about 20' away. I will try moving the antenna away from the wire bundle.

Like I said it doesnt affect it and I'm the only one who knows how/why it works and I cant explain it typing on my phone. Unplug the module to test its effects if you want to verify it works then do what I told you to do if it helps.
