2009 G8 GT with 5k for $28,000?

I'm new to these forums, so please excuse me if I'm in the wrong spot.

I wanted to create a new thread, but my account doesn't have access (yet?).

I have been in the market for a new car for a few weeks now. I have always loved the G8, and I now think it's time to buy.

My local dealership has a 2009 G8 GT with black leather, sunroof and red exterior with 5,000 miles. They had it listed for $32k and have recently dropped it down to $30k. I did a little bargaining and got them to $28k, after tax, title, license, etc... $30k out the door. It is also a GM certified used vehicle, so I get the extra 1yr/12k on the bumper to bumper.

My gut is telling me that it's a bit too much. They have told me that the car has little mileage on it because it was "owned" by a GM employee and was turned back over to GM. The dealer purchased it for $27,700 and can't sell for less.
  1. Has anyone heard of this type of sale?
  2. Does $28,000 seem like a fair price?
  3. Should I try to bargain an extended warranty out of this?
Thanks!

Sounds like a pretty decent deal, I'm just weary of ever buying anything RED. But, with leather interior and sunroof, sounds pretty good from all the research I've done. I'm still on the outside looking in, mainly because of 18 months of unemployment, I'm playing catch-up AND the GXP is obviously hard to find. Would settle for GT w/ sunroof, but probably need to keep between $23,000-$28,000 with planned mods. By then, maybe GM brings the G8 back in another form? Here's hoping!

It has extremely low miles, but you could find one fore sale here from a private party for less and save some money on taxes and dealer fees. Try your local craigslist also.

For 20K you might want to consider a V6, otherwise plan on adding at least 3K to the budget.
