Odd start up issue

So I'm just starting to learn/get into cars since I got my G8 at least, I apologize if I'm a newbie idiot.

Parked my 09' g8 (130k miles) in the garage for the weekend.
I went to get in the car to go to work at 8am and it was roughly 48 degrees according to the car.

Engine started to turn over then it just stopped. Didn't sound like anything was moving.

I turned it off. Waited a few seconds. then turned it on again. Again didn't sund like anything was moving.

One more try - and it started to make noise then turned over and started up. I let it sit and warm up for a minute or two while I closed the garage and opened up the mirrors again

the Check engine light was on when the engine wasn't starting but then turned off after it did start.

Sounds like the first signs that your starter motor is failing.

Ahh starter, that shouldn't be too difficult to replace. I'll look into that.
I appreciate the help

It's not going to help you, but the starter is covered by the 100,000 mile, 5 year GM warranty.

I've also got a warranty for the car that would replace it I believe

you should pulls the codes. The code will still be there if the light is out. Start there IMO.
