If its 09.1 like mine then cutting mid muffler out will increase the sound very slightly. In a G8 GT stock axle back mufflers are very aggressive at noise cancellation because the engineers could not figure out a way to cut the drone from when DOD (V4 mode)kicks in.

If 9.5 you can take off the extra cup-cats for 10ish hp more and more sound.

If you get the axleback replacement for the stock mufflers but choose to leave DoD intact, then I've heard some good things about Solo J-pipes. But for any serious exhaust note (And some high-mileage reliability and HP gains) you might want to consider going the route of DoD delete.

Hope that helps.

Don't start hacking and cutting your exhaust. Stupid mistake. Just get a set of Solo Axlebacks.

Most folks find that the AFM changeover and a louder muffler donít mix well. If the car hasnít already been modified you may want to consider a tune/DOD (AFM) delete.
