It looks better than that crappy pin stripe the dealer is always trying to push on every buyer at $100 a pop.

Kind of off-topic, but I saw a striped Altima SE-R the other day. It was gray/silver with black stripes.

Since I can't afford a BMW, my next car is a G8, poor me!!!

Thanks for pointing that out.

Those are all prices when the car is new and at delivery.

Holden produced a very classy looking car. Now why are they trying to "rice" it up with JC Whitney style stripes and wings?

The stripes pictured on the G8 at the begining of the thread my be nasty, but the wing is pure Holden and has been around for quite some time.

Major bad idea- that is one retro look that clashes with the modern G8 look IMHO

Ancient thread but since you brought it up. The front stripes in the first post are reminsent of the old Boss Mustang hood stripes.

I'm with the majority here, no stripes. I also like the V6 rims over the GT rims. But I do like the tail lights and exhaust tips of the GT on a dark car. The Red V6 lights only look good on the white car.

My Rides:

'12 Hyundai Genesis 5.0 R Spec Titanium Gray 5.0L 429 HP. Lovin it.

'08 Magnetic Gray Metallic Sedan. V6, Sunroof, Comfort and Sound package. Debadged, GT Rear Tail Lights, Tinted windows, 35% rear, 50% front. Royal Purple oil and K&N oil filter. (GONE Lemon Law)

'06 Harley Roadglide.
95" kit w/ custom heads and 50 mm TB. 101 HP/ 104 TQ.Lot's of custom body work as well. And it's Built by ME.

I did see a 3 series with holes (obviously cut with a jigsaw) in the front fenders and some sort of grating over them to look like an M3. I still laugh about it.

Wow, lots of negative feedback on stripes. Personally, I see the G8 as a sophisticated and modern American muscle car. Stripes have always been at home on such vehicles.

Here's a pic of my G8 GT and the stripes I had added.

Let the flaming begin...

Stripes are a personal thing. Many people see racing stripes and the last thing they'd think of is "sophisticated". To many people they scream "immature boy-racer".

Too many people are too quick to look at what someone else likes and find a way to be derogatory. Usually it's to make themselve feel better about... well... themselves.

More pics... yes I love the way they make my car look.
