*** FOR SALE FORUM RULES*** read before posting

These are the rules for posting a for sale thread on g8board.com. Please take the time to review these rules before posting your thread. Bear in mind at all times that these rules are in place for the protection of the member base. We don't want you to get screwed on a purchase or a sale here. Transactions herein are at your own risk of course, and any dispute resolution is your responsibility alone.

Please note that all new threads created in the "Parts for Sale" section will require a moderator to approve the thread prior to it being displayed.

If the thread does not meet the minimum requirements listed below the thread will be rejected and a PM will be sent to the thread originator.
This section will be monitored often throughout the day, so there should be very little wait for the new thread to be approved. Threads created in the middle of the night will be reviewed the next morning.
  • You must be the owner of the item with legal possesion.
  • You must have a minimum post count of 40 before you can post in the For Sale Sections (for sale posts in unrelated sections are prohibited). These posts need to be of substance.
  • If you only want to sell your item locally, you must first create an ad in either the "Parts for Sale" or "Cars for Sale" forum. At this point you may create a thread in the regional section and place a link to the ad.
  • All items for sale MUST HAVE PICTURES OF THE ACTUAL ITEM FOR SALE. Not a link to the maker's website, or a part similar to yours. Optional: It is recommended that your photos contain a piece of paper with your Screen Name and date on it.
  • Be descriptive. Most importantly, you must post a price of all item(s) when you post your thread. 'OBO' is alright, and is understood to mean that you may accept offers lower than your asking price. There's nothing more frustrating then having a part up for sale that you want to buy and the poster left no price.
  • Be sure to place your thread in the right section. Wanting to Buy, Parts for Sale, Cars for Sale, etc.
  • This is not ebay - do not ask people to "bid" on your item. Post your asking price! Auction style bidding is grounds for post removal.
  • Advise how to get in touch with you. If you don't visit the forum very often, leave an email address.
  • When you have finally sold your item(s), please post that you have done so! The preferable way would be to edit your original post to reflect the status of the item for sale. (This goes for price changes as well).
  • After you have completed a transaction with another member, leave feedback for them!
  • Be sure to check out who you are buying from or selling to. Many transactions happen here daily, there are some transactions gone bad. Be wary if someone is trying to use only a money order, wants expedited shipping, selling something they do not have in hand, etc.
  • Do not hijack sell or swap threads to indicate your unhappiness with a price or with a product. If you aren't going to buy it, don't bother!
  • A seller's asking price is never "too high." The price of an item is between the seller and the buyer; if you're not the buyer, do not post in the thread expressing your displeasure with the seller's asking price.
  • Any content that has been inactive for more than 30 days will be archived for reference.
  • If you're a paying sponsor, thank you. This forum would not be free to its membership base without you. We greatly appreciate your participation in the site, in terms of your expertise, your product, and your financial backing. The administration has provided you with sections of the forum for advertising your new products, sales, and group purchases. We ask that you please utilize those forums and leave the Parts For Sale and Cars For Sale sections to the membership base. If you have a used or one-off product to sell or even a pile of can't-sell-as-new items, please, by all means use this section as any other member would. Bear in mind, however, that your threads are subject to the same rules as anyone else's, and the requirements herein apply.
