12:85 @ 107 - Julesburg Rocks!

I went to Julesburg yesterday, first pass I ran 12:87 @ 107 and thought that can't be right so went straight for a second pass and ran exactly the same numbers! Thats down from 13:40's @ 102 Friday night at Bandimere. Then to top it off I took home the first place trophy in Sportsman class and got 23mpg on the trip! What a great day

I also want to say if you haven't been to Julesburg the people were all really friendly and I got to make at least a dozen time trial runs!

2008 G8 GT - 35% Tint, 345 Gears, Livernois cam, Underdrive pully, 160 degree thermostat, Vararam, Kook's 1&7/8 longtube, Solo Mach Shorty w/J's, FTI 3600 Stall converter, HP Tuners, MT Drag Radials. 422 RWHP/387TQ no NOS, 536 RWHP/478TQ with NOS.

Best 1/4 mile of 12:07 / 116.5mph @ 3500 feet altitude using NOS. Best 1/4 mile 12:80 / 109mph @ 5800 feet altitude non NOS.

Only the altitude and some nice cool morning are. Julesberg is only 3500 feet so much better than Bandimere, I expected maybe a 3 tenths gain but not 5!

Even stock you will probably run 4-5 tenths faster and I gained 5mph too!

I think their last race is the 9th or 10th, maybe they are running both days.

Very cool about winning the sportsman trophy!

On the other hand even at 3500 feet with all those mods you should be running quicker.

At SIR which has an elevation of 3100 feet and higher das I am 1/100ths of a second off of running a 12.9.

And as you can see in my mods I have hardly any bolt ons coupled with a superchips tuner.

I have the 3600 fti stall ready to be installed with a trans cooler.

Were you on street tires? Then I could understand your times. You would be a few tenths quicker on drag radials.

WildhorsePass,AZ 12/11/2015
11.48 @ 118.71 DA 2000 feet
Tucson Dragway, AZ 12/31/2015

"Silver Shadow"

416 with Lunati crank/rods. wiseco domed pistons. 11.3 to 1 compression. gmpp heads with a little work. 3600 circle d triple disc stall, rotofab, FAST 102 with matching t.b. underdrive pulley, 3.27 Camaro diff., 1 7/8s mids with full 3 inch exhaust. drag radials. (other mods for strength and handling; but not for speed)

This is pretty consistant to what I'm seeing around here unfortunately. At Bandimere outside of Denver I ran a best of 13:39 at 102mph two days before the Julesburg run. We have a GXP running most of the same mods and they hadn't seen the 12's yet at Bandemere (5800 feet).

Bottom line was I dropped almost 5/10s just driving out there so was pretty happy. I wish I could get down to AZ to come race with you guys and see what I could do but not going to happen for a while, 1000 mile weekend drive is a little much for me.

Just FYI, most GT's here are running 15:1 to 14:8 or so stock and I have one friend at 14:7 with no mods so we definately run slow here. Believe me, I am dreaming of going faster.

I forgot also Julesburg is an old landing strip and I did have my DR's on but traction was at a minimum. I wouldn't say "Tons" of wheel spin but quite a bit.

The track was old but the people that worked there and raced their were all really great. I had a breather haining down by my tranny and the guy next to me moved his drag car without me asking so I could run up on his trailer ramp and easily get under and fix it.

I'm not sure, but on a big raceday there might only be 80 cars there so you can make 15 - 20 passes no problem so it's kind of like a test and tune

Here is their website www.julesburgracing.com
