Colorado front plate

Hey all, just moved to Colorado this past week from AZ. I don't currently have a front plate bracket on the G8 and I really don't want to put one on. How strict are LEOs out here about enforcing the front plate requirement?

Ummm...don't attract LEO attention and you will be fine.
See lots of CO cars up here without a plate...give em a reason to stop you, and you can add to the fine.

Supposed to have one here in Idaho as well but I've been driving it for over 9 months with out one and have not gotten in any trouble for it. I think that as long as you don't get pulled over for something else, it shouldn't be problematic. And even if you do, odds are the cop won't notice since they would rarely walk to the front of your car.

I don't put a front plate on my G8, I also live in colorado.
I noticed city cops don't seem to care too much, but Ive been pulled over many times by state patrol for that reason. I just tell them I was in an accident a few months back and the front plate didn't make it, and Ill get it replaced my next day off.

They usually let you go with a verbal warning.
Havn't had too much experience in denver though.

I've been driving with no front plate for a little while now with no issues. Just keep the extra license plate in the car with you, I have been asked if I still have the plate because there has been in issue of people taking front plates off of cars.

Welcome to CO! Where do you live? I'm running without a front plate as well. I've noticed a few things:
-a lot of people here have no front plate or have the front plate in the windshield
-I've trolled the web and the only people I could find in CO getting tickets were parked in downtown Denver. Seems the meter maids don't have enough to do
-I decided not to do the front plate in the windshield because it screams "I know the law but I'm violating it anyway".

If anyone does get a ticket here in CO, let us know.

I saw a red G8 in Boulder the other day.... it had what looked like Pypes or at least similar tail pipes. I have only seen a handful of G8's in Colorado also. One very distinct one I saw around the time I bought mine is an orange one.... ugly as hell but still a G8!

Saw an Ignition Orange GT at the Park Meadows Best Buy a few weeks ago... There's also a guy somewhere here in Parker w/ a cammed black GXP that's nasty - he's also on these boards. Sightings are definitely rare for me though!

I drive a Red G8, and my daily commute is to boulder for work, it was probably me as I have the SLP loudmouth with the trapezoid tips.

I rarely see any G8's on the road in CO, I see 1 about every 6-7 months. We should all plan a meet and cruise sometime.

I'd be in for that. Nice to see what mods others have done, etc.

I'm tempted to get one of those, and I need someone to touch up/plug the holes that are gouged into my front bumper from the ham-fisted techs that put the bracket on so poorly that it fell off in the first place.

I'm in Berthoud, just north of Longmont. I don't drive mine too much but go to Bandimere often. Loveland has good cruising every Friday starting now weather permitting. Fatso's drive In and Runza are good stops to find cars.
