crank pulley

it fell off. bought a new one and and got a apr bolt. put it on was tighting it down and i lost threads. it lost threads and when i was barely cranking on it. backed it out. its not snapped . tried it agian and it just spins.. i lost all threads on the inside of the crank...

whats the best next step. tap it? drill n tap? i hope i exsplained my problem well enuf, pls help.

You can try to drill and tap/helicoil the threads in the car. Depending on your abilities and tools available, the crank might have to come out to either be replaced or repaired. You can try the method Hod Rod did to a LS truck motor.

are you sure the bolt is close enough to start threading. i think you need to get the pulley over the crank snout and in to get close enough to thread.

This...I think i used a different bolt than the crank pulley bolt to pull the pulley on for fear of stripping the threads.

I would make sure the bolt is engaging as mentioned above, before breaking out the drill.
