Fuel door problem

I have a problem with my fuel door.
The lock works fine. That seems to be what most people have problems with.
The spring-loaded plunger that pushes the door out is broken.
Has anyone tried to remove the plunger assembly?
I didn't know if it can be repaired.
Thanks,
Jim

Thanks for the reply.
That talks about the lock being stuck and not being able to open the door even with force. My lock works.
The part that is broken on mine is the spring-loaded plunger that pushes the door open after you push it in and let go.
It's in a rubber boot.
Can it be removed? I could epoxy the rod if I could get it apart.
If not is the assembly still available? Part number?

That push/push plunger does not appear to be a rework type of item (at least looking at mine). Can't find a real picture of that latching actuator assembly. As best as I can tell (from looking at mine), is that the push/push plunger is part of the latching assembly (an appears to be pressed into its housing) You might get lucky if you try to pry it out. But if that is wrong, it could produce some bad results to that assembly. Maybe a GM dealer has something better to reference (like the actual part on hand). The P/N is 92287825 an goes for about $68 an up from the discount GM sources.

Check on this board for people scraping G8's or a wrecking yard.

You're welcome. See post#13 in the aforementioned thread. The plunger's rod can be broken or cut off or the entire assembly replaced.
