Get a meter an verify if you have battery power from the underhood jump post to the jump ground stud. If OK, then verify if that battery power made it over to to the underhood fuse box power stud. No power at that location, would wipe out the power to the car (an trap your key in the ignition switch). If there is no power at that location, it would indicate that the big power wire that goes from the jump post, to the Alternator, an then to the fuse box is damaged somewhere. A 175 fuse link is wired into that big wire that goes from the jump post to the Alternator. If it blows, you have no power to work with. If you have headers, maybe they have come in contact with that wire run, an burned it up enough to cause the problem.
