G8GT Hood Scoop

Has anyone had to remove and replace a G8GT Hood vent scoop and if so, is it difficult to do and any special tools required? ~ Russ K.

It's a simple process. I only needed some pliers to get the clips out.

2009.5 SBM GT: Lots of show with some go.
The garage queen.

2008 IOM GT: Some go, working on the show.
The daily driver.

2004 Blazer Xtreme: Lots of go.
Sold and will be missed.

If you plan on getting new ones. Get ready to open up that wallet wide. I hear the going rate is 500 for scoops now.

Best of luck getting them off! Oh and since you're removing them, you may wanna consider having them sealed well. They are known to leak water into the motor compartment. I learned that from the company I bought my c.a.i. from.

I was told to use a marine (boat ) type sealant. I'm sorry it's been a few years and forget the exact name.

use 5200 if you never want to take it off again takes a few days to cure and can cure under water!
