  1. Climate Control Issues - No AC on Passenger Side

    Tech Lounge
Well, it seemed to be working better today for some reason. Not sure what's up.
  2. Climate Control Issues - No AC on Passenger Side

    Tech Lounge
The driver's side is as cold as I would expect it to be. When setting the driver's side temperature to hot and the passenger's side to cold, it does seem to get ever so slightly colder, but nowhere near as cold as the driver's side. I checked, though, and noticed that the passenger side...
  3. Climate Control Issues - No AC on Passenger Side

    Tech Lounge
It doesn't seem to be a low refrigerant issue, but I could be wrong. I checked it yesterday, and both the low and high pressure sides seemed about right when the compressor was running, with the high side around 220 psi while stationary. Who knows, though, as I may have inadvertently gotten some...
  4. Climate Control Issues - No AC on Passenger Side

    Tech Lounge
I recently noticed that I don't have any properly chilled air coming from the two passenger side vents in my 2009 with dual zone climate control. If I set the control to 'C' with the AC on (not in automatic control mode), the driver side is cold while the passenger side remains at roughly...
  5. Metallic Popping/Crunching Sound - Ideas?

    Suspension / Brakes
I'll give a quick update, almost two years later... The issue was the front subframe bolts on the driver side not being tight enough. I tightened them up a bit and the sound has been gone for over a year. I'm guessing they weren't torqued properly during a previous major service.
  6. Pulsing/Thumping Sound After Shutting Off?

    Tech Lounge
If that's the case, I'm rather disappointed in myself that it took me ten years to notice it...
  7. Pulsing/Thumping Sound After Shutting Off?

    Tech Lounge
The trouble is that it's not consistent. I think I just need to wait for it to happen again, then pop the trunk and put my hand on the sub to see if it's doing the pulsing.
  8. Pulsing/Thumping Sound After Shutting Off?

    Tech Lounge
It's definitely not fuel sloshing around. I've heard that many times, but this is much different and definitely sounds like a rotating mass spinning down. I'm looking into a possible correlation, though, after noticing that it did it with under a quarter tank of gas, but didn't after I filled up...
  9. Pulsing/Thumping Sound After Shutting Off?

    Tech Lounge
I've noticed a strange noise sometimes after parking my car. After reversing into a spot (although I can't say it's limited to that), I can sometimes hear a rapid, dull thumping sound coming from near the rear of the car. It sounds like something slowly spinning down, and it can take upwards of...
  10. If I up timing by 1- 2 degrees, Do I need to up other?

    PCM Tuning / Dyno Results
One thing to note - the timing tables use a grid of RPM and cylinder airmass for mapping the base timing values. At a higher elevation, you just wouldn't end up hitting as high of a cylinder airmass, which is directly calculated from MAF and RPM at a given time, so it wouldn't end up calling the...
  11. If I up timing by 1- 2 degrees, Do I need to up other?

    PCM Tuning / Dyno Results
A few things to note: -You asked if, when increasing timing, you need to adjust fuel or spark. "Timing" is the timing of the spark relative to the piston at a top dead center position, and one or two degrees of timing will not have any noticeable impact on your AFR. -If you lost your MAP...
  12. Battery or Alternator?

    Tech Lounge
Yeah, it's like the car hit the 10 year mark and decided to rebel. Next is a ball joint that needs to be replaced...
  13. Battery or Alternator?

    Tech Lounge
So, quick update - I replaced the battery, but still got the alternator warning shortly after startup. I had a new alternator arrive today, so I installed it. Everything seems to be working well now. I guess the light was right.
  14. Battery or Alternator?

    Tech Lounge
I was using the Maxx EverStart batteries from Walmart, which have served me quite well in the past. I returned it yesterday, and the guy at the returns counter said he just had the same issue with one of their batteries in his truck. Maybe it was a bad production run or something. I have a new...
  15. Battery or Alternator?

    Tech Lounge
This morning (a cool morning), about 10 minutes into a drive, I had the red battery light and the "Alternator" warning pop up on the dash display. It turned off a few seconds later, so I kept driving, but it popped up again shortly thereafter. I shifted my aeroforce over to voltage (which is...
  16. New, Intermittent Starting Issue

    Tech Lounge
Yep, I've had my car since I bought it new over ten years ago. It's at about 85,000 miles now, with over half of them since supercharging it. I used HP Tuners to self tune it over the course of a few years, tweaking little by little and falling further and further down the rabbit hole...
  17. Cyclical Steering Wheel Shake

    Tech Lounge
Well, you don't get much colder than we get in the winter. This could be the issue as I also have vibration sometimes at higher speeds when applying the brakes. Replacing the rotors was actually my next step in figuring this out since I can get a set of OEM-equivalents for reasonably cheap.
  18. Cyclical Steering Wheel Shake

    Tech Lounge
So many have had the steering wheel shake issue, but mine seems a bit different. On the highway around 60 mph, I get a significant steering wheel shake that comes and goes roughly every 50 seconds like clockwork. At its peak it is shaking a ton, and at its low it's perfectly steady. It almost...
  19. New, Intermittent Starting Issue

    Tech Lounge
Well, it's been over a month now without any issues. I did three things about a month ago: Replaced the other relay that powers the boost a pump directly from the battery. Shifted the incoming power wire for the BAP that looked like it had been rubbing on the edge of the BAP frame and...
  20. New, Intermittent Starting Issue

    Tech Lounge
Unfortunately I was sick this weekend, so I didn't get to fully checking all of the wiring. I did notice that some of my MAF wires were rubbing a bit through their insulation on a spot they were zip tied to, so I cleaned that up. There's a small chance that I was losing a proper read on that...
