I have been contemplating getting the exhaust done after I got the 3" Hooker axle backs on order.

My wish is : 1 7/8 LT with 3" piping all the way back to the axle backs.

2 things I need help deciding:

Other than custom, what other cost effective options do I have for a 3" system from the LT to the axle backs ?

Cat or no cats : My state does not have a problem with no cats ?

There really isnt any other option other than the 3' Magnaflow catback system. It is pretty pricey though and will set you back about $1200. Custom would probably be more cost effective. As for the cats, if you dont mind smelling exhaust and are inspection legal than go catless as this will flow better.

Say yeah its either custom or mangaflow. I have no cats on mine and have been fine, though I havent had to get inspected. On that note there are plenty of shops around KC that will do it even though you dont have cats. As far as I'm aware yes we are supposed to. What I have been looking at is getting a single muffler and putting it where the xpipe/ mid muffler would be. Magnaflow has a dual in/out muffler with 3inch on both and its a tru-x style muffler. Pretty much the muffler would be the xpipe. http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd.asp?zone=main&id=10957. Then run the rest of your exhaust out the back. Only thing that has me concerned is if it will fit where the xpipe is now.

I know this is from a thread from back in 2011
you can bolt the kooks long tube to the stock system and it will go straight to the axles. leaving you with the stock mufflers/tails so long as you buy the kooks xpipe @$220 w/o cats and $835 with. you can not bolt lth's to the stock catback. you need the x-pipe.

What is he refereing to "kooks xpipe @$220 w/o cats" his link goes to the "3-off-road-connection-pipes-for-corsa" .

Or does he mean to say buy both of the following to make it work with the factory catback ?:
Kooks 3" Off Road Connection Pipes for Corsa - $230

I would get a "complete" header system with headers, x pipe, connections all the way back to the axlebacks. Your options are ARH, kooks, OBX.

The system is 3" all the way to just after the x pipe then it reduces down to 2.5" To get EVERYTHING in 3" you could have that last piece replicated by a shop that has a mandrel bender but use 3" pipe.

or without a mandrel bender you can make bends without crimping the pipe by having a few more cut and welds.

Even the 3" magnaflow street series necks down to 2 1/2" at the connection to the stock cats, I called tech and asked... that is from magnaflow's own mouth... the only option you have for a full 3" exhaust all the way is to have one custom made! I have the OBX LT, mid pipe and axle backs. The Mid pipe necks down to 2 1/2" after the X pipe... I have installed 2 full OBX kits (one on my car, one on a buddies, there are some potential fitment issues... see this thread... http://www.g8board.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66482&highlight see post #11 for my complete writeup)It does drone in the 1700 to 2000 RPM range but I solved that by welding some J pipes in. Good luck Screamin chicken.
