I just ordered mine and every where I have read abut this it says to get them coated. Is it really that beneficial? Is anyone using theres without a coating? If so have you had any issues?

Asking all this because I dont have anyone local to coat it. If I did do a diy coating what would be good to go with?

I plan to coat mine with the VHT header coating. Should help a little but not for sure yet. I might wait and run it without it at first just to see if it does help at all.

Helps to keep the heat soak out. But if you have a HSRK its a wash.

Header paint will do nothing, other than change the apprearance. Paint has no heat reflecting qualities. It is not a ceramic thermal barrier like
Jet-hot or the others. If it comes out of a spray can, it's just paint.
