Hey gang -- I plan to be at the track tomorrow (9/20) for World Tuner Challenge (a manufacturer show-down, all makes & models welcome), and then back for the final two Club Clashes of the season on Friday 9/25 & 10/2. Let me know if you are planning on coming.

Tomorrow (Sunday 9/20) is Race and/or show with lots of stuff going on -- RC races, Car show, Bikini contest, Burnout contest, ATV 1/8 mile racing, Live music (local bands & DJ). Sounds like a big show. Gates open at 8:00 - Race/Show $40, Show only $30, Spectators are $15 (12 & Under are free).

Hey there Wyome -- I understand. Originally I said no way am I going to a tuner show. But then I looked more into what was happening. The picture on the Bandimere website is of a Charger, and is open to ALL makes and models. SO, since I was already booked for today (Saturday) I decided I will have to go tomorrow (today was all American -- Detroit Footbrake Nationals).

Have a great weekend! Maybe see you on Friday.

Anybody heard from Maurader since he left?

Hi -- Well, went to the track yesterday. Was an interesting day to say the least. It was the World Tuner Challenge - about 70% imports, 30% domestic cars. I did not do as good as last Friday, as I red lit out of competition in the 2nd round - but I was OK with that. The wind was blowing hard. There were dust/dirt clouds everywhere, trash and trash cans flying every which direction and all I wanted to do was get the GXP home and into the garage where she's safe!

Will be back at the track on Friday, 9/25 for the Club Clash event. Hope to see some others there. Let me know...

Have a great week!

SNOW?? Wow, don't you agree it is too early for that! Hopefully the weather will be dry on Friday and we can get a good race in.

Maybe we'll see you Friday! Have a great week!

Hey there --

Well, weather permitting, our last Club Clash is Friday, Oct 2nd.

Our club is still in the top 5 in the points chase, and I am currently sitting in 6th for individual points. Hope to have a great turnout and event.

If you can make it, we'll see you there! If not, wish us luck & hopefully we can all meet up elsewhere during the off-season!

Not sure about Friday, but I am planning on going up tomorrow night (Wed) for the Test & Tune. Hopefully it will be cool and dry.

Good luck Friday, and make us G8 owners proud! If I can't make it, hopefully I will catch a couple of your runs on the Live Timing web page.

Hey ScottE -- Haven't heard from you in a long time. Good luck tomorrow, post up with some times afterwards. Weather should be pretty good. My son has a dentist appointment, otherwise I might've tried to go up there tomorrow also -- to get a few rounds of practice in prior to Friday!

Did you see any of the runs from the past couple of events? The air has been pretty good for up here. If it continues, tomorrow & Friday should be fun, and we should get some pretty good runs.

If anyone else is going up (tomorrow or Friday) let me know. PM or text me.

See ya!

Bandimere 9-30-09....

Made it to the test and tune last night, but only made two runs.

My first run was 14.660 @ 97.98 mph, the second run was 14.658 @ 97.71 mph.

There were no other G8's at the track, but several Camaro SS's running 14.4 to 14.5's.

The weather conditions were good except for the wind.

Hey ScottE -- Nice runs, are they amoung your best?

I like knowing that the GXPs are running better than the Camaros & GTs are right with them or faster also.

Possibly see others there tomorrow. I know that I will be there, and there is usually an MGM GXP that is up there with us for each race.

Jlasti, those are my best runs, but I have only raced the G8 one other time, and it was bone stock at the time.

My two previous runs were in the 14.8's, so I gained a couple 10nths with the mods. Not as much as I was hoping for, but better than nothing.

It does not look like I will be able to make the Friday night races, but appreciate you keeping us up-to-date on this stuff. I'll try to keep track of you on the Live Timing page. Good luck!

Thanks ScottE -- I need all the luck (and whatever else) I can get. If you get online -- you know how to find me -- B279 (says its a 94 TransAm, but things change!!!).

A couple 10ths, its a start. Give it time. I am sure it will get better. How many miles are on your car?

----

Anybody else - who is going to be up there? -- wyome, cog8man.....

I'll try and keep tabs on you tomorrow night. It should be nice and cool, so get that GXP into the 13's!

With the temps being so much cooler last night compared to the first time I went, I figured that would be worth 2 10ths alone. My AIT (Ait Intake Temp) were around 80° last night compared to being over 100° the last time, making me wonder how much difference having cooler AIT's really help.

Hey wyome --

Have fun tonight at the "function". I will try to update tomorrow how the night goes. Tonight is the last Club Clash at Bandimere, so we will not be back up there this year. If things work out right, we might take the TransAm & the GXP to Wichita next weekend (9th & 10th) for the All Pontiac Race & Show.

Hi all --

Well, last not was not the best night, but fun was still had. It was the last night for Club Clash for the season, and I red lit out of cometition in the 1st round! Oh well. The GXP ran the number, Dialed in a 14.04 & ran a 14.04, but due to the read light, I got to go home early. Looking forward to next year with the club. Maybe we can get a few more G8s in the mix?

Now it is time to enjoy the colder weather. Hopefully we can all get together sometime, once Mike is back from Iraq.

Take it easy, and if I get to Kansas, wish us luck there. Will be taking the TransAM and the GXP if we go.

I am with Dave on that one. There is a small part of me that would like to stay in Iraq since the winter temps are more to my liking than Denver winters.

I hear ya, guys. It is definately getting chilly here!

I had a great time at the track this year. I finished 8th overall in my class (and that's with missing one race - ran the faster car so points did not count). That is a personal best for me. As for the club, we finished 4th, which is a club best. We will be back in action next year.

Still hoping to get to Kansas this coming weekend for the Pontiac Uprising. If we get there, I'll update with times.

Have a great off-season, stay warm & safe.
